Debating whether or not Rush Limbaugh can say some stupid things seems a lot to me like debating whether Wilt Chamberlain could dunk.

Rush has to say outlandish things to get listeners and to feel relevant. Sadly, you guys (and I guess myself) are here discussing him, so I suppose in a sense, the terrorists have won.

Nah, if anything he'll be more relevant now (not to me personally, but in general). While the Repubs had all the power, he was having to grasp at straws to find anything interesting to say. Now that there will be plenty of disillusioned people with the Dem takeover, he'll be able to rant and rave like he did during the early Clinton era. He and Keith Olbermann are just going to swap roles...and probably keep doing so as the winds of power change direction.

Look, what he's talking about is the absorption of as much of the private sector by the US government as possible, from the banking business, to the mortgage industry, the automobile business, to health care. I do not want the government in charge of all of these things.

Fat boy just listed the four most [censored]ed up areas in this country. The bankers refuse to let anyone see what they're doing with all that bailout money, the massive and uncontrolled greed of mortgage companies nearly bankrupted themselves out of business, the auto industry can't make [censored] for cars while paying assembly line monkeys $80 an hour to do what a high school sophomore could easily do, and health care wants to charge an arm and a leg (pun intended) for anything they do while overcharging Medicare and other government programs in the process. These four areas need the most immediate attention and the most immediate fixing.

Ya know, they aren't paying assembly line workers any where near $80 per hour Mili, but - yeah - they are the most [censored]ed up sectors. and I don't mind a little government regulation of any [censored]ed up industry, because asking the guys who [censored]ed it up to clean up themselves is not a good idea. I would love to end the unlimited bundling up/derivatives market and get back to a limit on the amount of mortgage loans that can be written and shipped off to unknown service entities. If the writers have to eat the bad loans, they won't be lending to every mook with an inflated salary figure on his loan app.

I think I heard the cost per hour for each auto industry worker including all the perks and pension is well over 80 per and maybe into the hundreds.

Any government regulation of industry or commerce is bad in the long run.

If I'm understanding the context of the statement Rush gave, he seems to be stating that he hopes Obama's policies fail, not that he hopes these polices fail to get enacted. It's a key distinction. I guess I'd like to see a little more elaboration.
