Part of me wants to say something but the other part says don't touch this place again with a ten foot pole. As the poli forum regulars know, I was involved in an exchange that was perhaps the epicenter of this latest episode. It all started with an individual who claimed to be outraged by the climate of the forum, even though I have never observed this poster contributing anything to this forum in the past. After being mocked by him for posting information that he brushed off as out of context, emotions got the best of me, and I apologize for the grief that I have caused to the mods and other members of this forum. That said, I believe many share the general attitude that any support for an argument that the right uses except say people's signatures appearing on a list of communist sympathizers or a leaked memo by a bureaucrat wishing to deny treatment of seniors to save cost can be brushed off as rhetoric, out of context, blasphemous. The best evidence for this is that no one has serious attempt to debate the issue of cost on an intellectual level, except for muckfich, and the usual rebuttal is something about an outrageous thing that a conservative said. That is not serious debate. Don't want to sound like I'm trying to step on anyone's toes, but if you want posters to take you seriously, start thinking about contributing to the serious discussion rather than brooding on the sidelines and then coming out of nowhere to lay down the hammer like its the stepchild that you never wanted. Anyway, sorry for the rant. Carry on.

It appears that you want to play the victim. I think everybody views things through their own filters - please re-consider whether or not that is affecting how you're viewing things.

But if you don't like the way things appear to be handled in the political forum, there's an easy solution - you can simply stop posting in it.

Numerous moderators spend a lot of time trying to handle things in the political forum. Please remember that these are unpaid volunteers.

It may be worth pointing out to you that the one person that I know who was banned from the poli forum (without being banned completely on other occasions) is someone that has opposite views from yours on most political issues (Taosman). I believe that's evidence that one set of political views isn't favored overall by the moderators as a group.

By the way, the post I quoted could be hit with an infraction for ding whining. Also, FYI, there is an infraction category for 'Arguing with moderators'. I'm not mentioning those to be threatening - I'm pointing out that moderators have shown a great deal of patience with you regarding these issues.

But I believe from some of the recent posts that the level of patience is wearing thin. So to put this in terms that I think you can relate to - if you want to stay out of the 'penalty box', I think you may want to reevaluate your reactions to these changes.
