It is once again time to clean up this sub-forum a bit.
buckiprof already clearly laid out the demeanor and level of conversation expected in the forum in a sticky, still located at the top of the forum, with the subject "PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING HERE."
buckiprof's post is quoted below, whether you read no further in this particular post please at least read the post of buckiprof which you should already have read and heeded.
We are not trying to deter anyone from posting in this sub-forum and we welcome discussion of all issues and viewpoints thereof. Our simple request is that people stick with the intent of the forum: honest, intelligent, and illuminative discussion of political happenings and theory. We truly want a vibrant and interesting forum where viewpoints are discussed rationally and without animosity and immutable opinions.
If you wish only to visit and post in this forum in order to tout and fly the flag of your particular political bent, without any desire to consider contravening opinions or facts, we do not wish you to post here. You may be right or wrong, and we may applaud you for your loyalty. But please go.
If you start threads or make posts with the sole intent of attacking views that oppose your own and those who hold them, again without any real desire to intellectually and openly discuss the subject matter at hand, we do not wish to have to muddle through what you have to say.
If you think intelligent discussion of political issues includes the use of name calling (as to politicians or other BP members) or hyperbolic adjectives such as "communist" or "fascist" without true recognition of the terms, or if you use "socialist," "right wing," "wingnut" or "liberal" as merely a derisive term void of true meaning, please do not do so any longer in the forum or else take your banter elsewhere.
We want this forum to stimulate the mind rather than enrage or decay it. The Poli forum can be a useful and informative place, and it has been in the past, and we intend to ensure that it is again in the future.

- Flaming and trolling will be dealt with swiftly and with little to no tolerance. If you can't refrain from flaming, your ability to post in this sub-forum will be revoked.
- Refrain from starting threads with titles that are meant to agitate folks from the other side of the aisle. Again, this would not foster discussion nor debate.
- Political discussion is for the Poli sub-forum ONLY. Do NOT, under any circumstance, take such topics to any other forum at BP. Interjecting political commentary in other forums will be met with harsh responses ... generally a warning or infraction from our staff.
- No political commentary in your Avatar, Title or Signature line. These items appear in all your posts at BP and will be viewed on all forums. Much like the previous point, we do NOT want political commentary outside of the Poli sub-forum.
- It is the policy in all areas of BP that one will refrain from posting entire articles. This policy is also in effect in this sub-forum.
We ask that everyone recognize what is expected of them in this sub-forum and take responsibility and ownership of this sub-forum as a community. Childish behavior will not be tolerated, name calling will not be tolerated, bashing of other posters will not be tolerated, and mindless rhetoric ala Limbaugh or Moore will not be tolerated. If these simple guidelines are too much for you to adhere to, then do not post in this sub-forum.
