It took me all of about 30 seconds to check out the stats during the Yanks recent run, and here's what I found:
Bernie 8 hits, 1 HR, 6 RBI

Are you dense? I said ON THE VERY FIRST POST that A-Rod's numbers blow everybody else away. What does you rattling me off selective numbers (which don't include games played b/c Bernie's probably played in half the amount of games as A-Rod over this stretch) accomplish?
First off, A-Rod's played every game. Bernie & Giambi have been platooning. Cano was just brought up & started coming into his own during this stretch. The point is not, who's putting up the best numbers, but who is getting the big hits?
Bernie had a Grand Slam to win a game against Seattle, and a game winning double against the Mets. Giambi had two game winning hits on the West Coast trip. Cano has been a breath of fresh air (he will win Rookie of the Year & looks like a future All-Star at 2B).
A typical A-Rod RBI is what he did Saturday against the Mets: 8th Inning, 7-0 game, Womack on 2nd, and he singles to drive him in: 7-1. Big deal.
Watch the games before you comment. Just because they haven't played baseball in Pittsburgh in 13 years doesn't mean you've forgotten. Its still played the same way.

NDC: remember this name: Philip Hughes. He's the Yankees best pitching prospect. He's playing for the Charleston River Dogs (A Ball). He's a big kid: 6'5", 220, righty, & throws a 96+ heater, with a great mix of off-speed stuff.
He is tearing up A-Ball, should be promoted soon, and will be in the Bronx before you know it. Could be the next great one:
5-1, 1.66 ERA, 48.2 IP, 9 ER, 34 H, 14 BB, 55 K's.
By the way: did anyone see the Captain's play last night?? That might be the best play I've ever seen. The Jeter highlight reel grows by the year.

best play you've ever seen? he caught a ball running backwards and THEN tripped over some idiot. his run into the stands was more impressive and that wasnt even all that great if you can put the kool-aid down.

Disagree. That was an incredible play.
I still say his best was the running cut-off-flip to nail Jeremy Giambi at the plate in the 2001 ALDS.

Have you ever played the middle infield? Do you know how difficult that play is to make when you're out there by yourself, much less with a 2B right underneath you? It would've been a great play if he merely put a glove on the ball, but he caught it!

Dude, you put the Kool-Aid down. Even the most die-hard, bitter Red Sox fan will bow down to "The Dive." It was a great play, and saved the game for the Yankees. Jeter knew he was going face first into the stands if he was going to catch the ball. You're not even sounding like an anti-Yankee fan when you so 'those plays are average.' You sound like a fan who's never done anything even semi-athletic in his life, and can barely get up off his couch.

yes i have, 2nd base. what does that have to do with anything? he caught a ball and then tripped over somebody. if thats the greatest play youve ever seen you need to get out more.
