Damon contacted by NYY
As per radio report, George is going to get "personally" involved soon.

Damon doesn't have that great of an arm. He would struggle in Yankee Stadium, I think. He's much more suited to Fenway.

Exactly. This big panic about acquiring a CF revolves around DEFENSE, or the lack thereof. So, the plan is to give a 3 year deal to an Offensive CF who aint that good in the field and can't throw. Makes perfect sense to me.
Not to mention the fact that he's going to demand booku bucks, will be 37 at the end of the deal, and probably will have to be moved out of CF before the end of the contract.
And will lose all of his marketability when he has to shave & trim the ol' locks.

Damon's not a bad defensive center-fielder, he covers ground, he just has the arm of a 12 year old girl.
Have fun, Sloopy.
