American League vs. National League
I did a search for this, but I couldn't find anything. Feel free to merge if it exists. Or delete if it sucks.
Which is better? American League or National League? Personally, I'm not much of a baseball fan. But I like the American League. Always have. What about everyone else?
Of course, the biggest difference is the DH vs. pitcher rule. But if you have another reason for liking one league more, go for it. (Note: if your favorite team is in the National League, I think that's a pretty weak reason for that league to be your favorite. Same goes for American League teams.)
The reason I don't like the National League so much is because they all eat their bread with the butter side down. (There - that should start up the cold-blooded argument.)

I'm a purist, so I say do away with the DH rule.
The DH is a tenth player. Slow-pitch softball has ten players, baseball has nine.
No glove, no stick.

[sloopy45] The DH has been around since a mighty Yankee named Rom Bloomberg first stepped up the plate in early 1973. It's long been a part of baseball history, deal with it! [/sloopy45]
Font rant off - Screw the DH rule!

The National League is better because their pitchers have to hit, their 42-year old sluggers with limited range and declining eyesight have to field, and the [censored]ing Yankees and Red Sox aren't two of the teams.

Reviving an old thread here.
Is the DH the only reason you like the National League better? I was hoping at the time that there'd be deeper reasons to like one league over the other than that. But oh well.
Personally, I like the DH rule. But, I'm not really a baseball fan, so who cares? But you guys who don't like it, are you also against platooning players in football? Should the 11 guys play both sides of the ball, and special teams? Finally, how can you be FOR offensive/defensive players in football, and AGAINST doing the same thing in baseball?

You said it. Football is football and baseball is baseball. Asked and answered.
