Randy Johnson - Arizona Diamondbacks
Yankees, D'backs reach tentative agreement
Ronald Blum
Associated Press
Jan. 4, 2007 02:55 PM
NEW YORK - The Yankees and Arizona reached a tentative agreement Thursday on a trade that would send Randy Johnson to Arizona, a move that allows the Big Unit's agents to get him a contract extension.
The teams informed the commissioner's office of the specifics of the trade, a baseball official said, speaking on condition of anonymity because no announcement had been made.
Yeah... as a D-Backs fan...this is awsome. He's a fan favorite and capable of winning 12-15 games easily. Plus he goes deep into the game. This could definetly propel the D-Backs back into the playoffs... CY Young Brandon Webb, RJ and Doug Davis ... solid 123.

That's the best place for him so late in his career. I think he lives in Scottsdale.

Watch out for Arizona next year. They could be a dangerous team pitching wise, but not sure about their hitting. They may be one dimensional and that wont win you much but if they can find some batting power, watch out for the D-Backs

So could his time in the Bronx officially be called a "flop" now?

Yankees picked up some good prospects with this trade. However, one prospect they did not pick up was my buddy Micah Owings. I can't imagine him in New York. Good deal for both teams!!

Conner Jackson at first and Chad Tracey at thrid and Carlos Quinton in the OF are all top hitting prospects. Not to mention the one Drew worth a crap (Stephen) at SS. I think they have the O Dog at 2b (which should make for a slick MI D, helping that pitching staff even more).
Did El Duque sign with them? He'd be a nice 4th starter. I have to say I like them better than San Fran going into next year.
