Who is the best manager in baseball?
Bobby Cox gets my vote, hands down. 13 straight division titles (14 really soon) and turning out teams that overachieve on a yearly basis. This years team may take the cake, after enduring a huge hit on the roster (lost Sheff. Maddux, Lopex.. etc.), not to mention the seasonal slump of Chipper Jones (batted in the low .220's up until last month), plus the injury of Marcus Giles for 8 weeks, and somehow has gotten that team to step up and beat the hell out of the heavily favored Phillies. Not to mention, they are holding off the world champs of last season.
Did I mention that he helps with the re tooling of pitching careers. Just to name a few, Jaret Wright, Mike Hampton and many others in the past.
What do you think?

I can't argue. Cox always seems to get it done no matter what he has to work with.

It's hard to argue against Bobby Cox. Tony LaRussa and Joe Torre can also be mentioned in the same breath.

Well... Much Like Bobby Cox, Tony LaRussa gets their respective pitching coaches in the Package... which you could hold against them... but I don't really.
Torre... Well... Hmmm... Not that I think he sucks... but You could put old AKAK on the bench and win a lot of games with that kind of Budget... A-Rod Before Jeter? A-Rod After Jeter? This lineup thing is too hard.

If you ever do become manager of the MFYs and win 4 World Series rings in your first 5 years of managing them, I'll nominate you as well.

I was thinking the same thing.
Along those same lines I think Brian Cashman is the best GM in baseball
If the Red Sox win it all this year I'd put Francona on the top of the list
