Red Sox Advance
Ortiz just hit a 2-run homer in extra innings after they blew a 6-1 lead.
One down, 2 opponents to go. Since the Cubs are long gone, as usual, I've switched to the other perennial heartbreak team. |

Bill: "One down, 2 opponents to go."
Should read: One down, 2 opponents, 86 years, one curse, one Bambino, and one EMPIRE to go. Seems like a long way away to me. "Since the Cubs are long gone, as usual, I've switched to the other perennial heartbreak team." I'd stick with the Cubs if I were you. The Cubs don't have to feel this: ![]() |

Sloopy,
I find your lack of faith...disturbing. But well grounded in history. |

Funny reply, my man. I got a real kick out of it. But, all jokes aside, from a long time, long time follower of this rivalry, today's Yankee game is a key. Watch it, because the next Series hinges heavily on today. If the Yankees win today, they can re-set the rotation, and be in good shape against the Red Sox. If not, and the Yanks go five and have to pitch Mussina, they could be in big trouble next series. Very big. |
