Arizona Diamondbacks 2007
Well, I may be the only D-Backs fan on here... but things seem to be getting exciting. I loved their game plan in the off season... strong pitching and fielding. No real big name hitters... and great young talent. They are really going after the playoffs this year. They made no trades at deadline... but have just picked up 3 waiver players. B-H Kim, Jeff Cirillo and Joe Kennedy. All as tactics to block other teams from adding them and for added depth. Although I don't think they have the talent level to win a penant... they're young and have money to spend, so watch out. BTW sucks that Randy Johnson is done for the year.

D-Backs coming through
Very Good read to why they have such a good record. Good defense and the ability to win close games. Very good job by Manager Bob Melvin. In other news Eric Brynes signed a 3yr 30 Mill extension. That's huge, he's hitting over 300 and has double digit Hr's and steals.

FOX Sports on MSN - MLB - Webb's scoreless streak ends at 42 innings
Brandon Webb's scorless innings streak gets broken. Dang! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a BoSox vs DBacks series.

In an effort to bolster a tired bullpen, the Diamondbacks have signed veteran relief pitcher Bob Wickman, a former closer with 267 saves in his 15-year career.
He is expected to join the team today before the Diamondbacks begin a three-game series against the Cardinals.

</H1> D-Backs sign veteran reliever Wickman
D-Backs add Bob Wickman. After getting shredded by the Padres by expirience, it's good to see them add a vet reliver.

Right now the Rockies scare me the most in the NL. They are playing hot right now. I think the D-Backs can handle the Cubs though.

Wow StarBucks, I figure I'll add some diversity to your thread here: I think, given what the DBacks did this season, they will be in the World Series - not many people have any clue who is on the team or what they did this season, but they are solid.
