Stalker27: "can the line drive hit jeter in the face? or better yet....it hits him in the arm because he was pumping his fist for no reason again. without the fist pump the yankees win."
Are you just jealous cause your imaginary girlfriend has a crush on Jeter? |

the sox score seven in the first to take all of the fight out of the yankees....
why...because kevin browns buttocks are sore from some pre-game loving from his man giambi.....too weakend to drop and drive at game time....brown gets rocked.... then giambi drops, drives and rocks brown all off-season..... |

I've seen where this assclown was calling a game in the bottom of the ninth, the home team down two runs with the bases loaded, and he says something to the effect of, "The run on third base doesn't matter, the guy on second is the one the ties it and the guy on first is the winning run." HELLO JACKASS! If the guy on third doesn't score, what the [censored] does that mean for the other two guys?! Do the math! |

![]() al leiter did really good in the booth i thought. my favorite was when he called 2 pitches high and tight to manny because of the count, then he said thats usually followed with a curve ball low and away. strike 3, curve, low and away. guys got a future in the booth. |

I agree - Al Leiter's been great.
More McCarver stupidity, from ESPN's Sports Guy: 7. If the Yankees are down by two runs in the ninth inning, and somebody walks -- like Matsui did in Game 6 -- apparently it's as good as a home run. That's how Tim McCarver explained it last night. I'm not sure if just the Yankees are immune to double plays, or if it's everyone in the league. But it's an interesting development. Joe Morgan is as bad a McCarver. Dude likes to hear himself so much that he talks constantly.
The Curse of A-Rod Starts Tonight |

no way sears.....morgan knows what he is talking about....though, i have to admit, he is not as good as when he first started....he seems to have been reeled into pc thinking over time....
i cant stand morgans partner....that guy is a barry bonds groupie.... |

Morgan does have knowledge but he always ends up making the short story long even on the simple intricacies of the game such as rounding a base or setting the bat down after you swing.

I gotta agree with Sears, here (although this shouldn't be a day where I'm on the same page as a Sox fan): Morgan knows the game, but he lets his personal biases get in the way, and he has a tendency to get choppy and careless in the booth. Loved the guy as a player, but as a broadcaster, he sucks. I think the best analyst is Rick Sutcliffe. He knows the game inside and out, is unbiased, and makes the game entertaining. |

i guess im just biased....i was a middle-infielder and grew up idolizing joe.... i will always remember my friend and i....i think we were 10 or 11...waiting for the reds to come out of the clubhouse for autographs deep underneath riverfront stadium...getting a sig from bench...watching concepcion drive by banging a heater and drinking a beer... and then just about when we were going to give up....out comes my favorite player...joe morgan... we ask joe for his autograph...we are about the only two left waiting....he says to me...here take this...and hands me his bat bag....and he says to both of us follow me....so we follow him to his white lincoln continental (with that slant trunk)....he pops the trunk....pulls out two bats, two balls....signs them both and sends us on our way.... pure class....so i guess i am just biased... |
