From everything that has been rumored in this trade. It looks like the PTBNL is Green or Brantley. It just quite simply as the Indians want Green to play 2B first and let their scouts watch him playing there. If the scouts like what they see they will take Green, if not they will get Brantley. Or at least that is what the rumors are out of both Milwaukee and Cleveland.

It was also interesting that Shapiro said they can wait til the end of the year to decide on the player. I always thought it would be a good idea to tie performance to a trade. Like if CC leads them to the playoffs (and maybe the World Series) then the Indians get player X. Now, that probable would never happen, but I always thought that would be a cool idea.

I think that would be cool too. It would make trades a little more even for their contributions to that team and it would be pretty cool

While he seems to be a good prospect he sure is injured enough.

Color me Green. We already have enough young OFs. We need some position players plus Brantley's agent says he is not one of the PTNL for whatever that is worth.

Newly acquired outfielder Matt LaPorta will make his debut with the Akron Aeros tonight when they take on Bowie in Canal Park. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:05.

LaPorta, acquired by the Indians from Milwaukee in the CC Sabathia trade, was scheduled to arrive at Canal Park around 5 p.m. and meet with the media at 5:30. He is scheduled to play left field and bat third tonight.

The Aeros also announced that outfielder Trevor Crowe has been placed on the disabled list and lefthander Chuck Lofgren has been activated from the inactive list.

Crowe, who was named Eastern League Player of the Month earlier in the day, was put on the DL with a strained left intercostal muscle, retroactive to July 2.

Crowe, a former first round pick, missed 35 games earlier this season with a strained back. He is hitting .325 with four homers and 26 RBI on the season and hit .400 in June.

Lofgren has been on the inactive list since June 14t. He is 1-3 with a 5.95 ERA this year.

I thought that Chuck was supposed to be pretty good. At least he was last year with Akron. Hopefully, his injury has something to do with his nasty looking ERA.

Minnesota is awesome at scouting/development, most of their roster is homegrown. We used to have a good farm system a few years ago, but years of poor scouting/bad drafting have left it depleted.

After their experiences with Prior & Wood it's a little surprising that the Cubs went after Harden. On the other hand they no longer have Dusty Baker managing so at least one major risk factor is out of the picture.

the one plus is that he gets the rest of the season to show he doesn't belong in the majors, making any offseason moves easy.

If they can't see he doesn't belong in the majors after last season and continually getting hammered this year, I'm not sure they'll ever see it. I understand we're handcuffed by injuries, but at some point you have to try somebody, anybody else. He gets ROCKED everytime he goes to the mound.
