Doubt it, Shapiro just won executive of the year last year and he loves him some Eric Wedge. I said all along we got as far as we did last year in spite of Eric Wedge. The man has no idea of how to strategize or apparently motivate. They went in the [censored]ter after they lost game 5 of the LCS last year. You could just tell they were gonna cough that series up after that game. This season, they show no fire or passion whatsoever. Every step forward is followed by another step or two back.
The talent base is here...Grady, Victor, Gutz, Fausto and the young arms in the minors, but they need an overhaul around them. We're stuck with Pronk, and my doubt of him ever returning to form is growing by the day. He's a very expensive #6 or 7 hitter right now. I don't see how this team can manage more than 75 wins this year. If we're out of it in August, Shapiro better move C.C. for some young bats because if he jets without getting anything in return, i'm going to be livid. Shapiro is great at locking up talent that's on the roster, but he's shown pronounced laziness or unwillingness to upgrade the roster from the outside.
