Extra innings just means more chances for futility

Sometimes Indi ans pitchers don't have to go nine stingy innings while burning dugout incense in ritualistic prayer that their teammates will squeeze out a run or two and deliver them.
Sometimes they have to go 10.
And so game 50 in this Season of Screams was another low-scoring loss, this one 2-1 in extra innings to a Texas team that doesn't pitch or catch particularly well.

Anger can be a great motivator. That might be the best route for the Indians to go at this point.
After losing for the eighth time in their past nine outings, Travis Hafner said losing evokes various emotions. Getting ticked off is just one of them.
After leaving 11 men on base and losing to the Texas Rangers, 2-1, in 10 innings Sunday, the Indians were obviously not happy with themselves.

I'll believe this when I see it. I have no idea what they can do. No GM in their right mind would want in the of the Indians "hitters". Maybe they're thinking about bringing the Kingston roster to Cleveland.

Trading Kouzmanoff for Barfield sure was brilliant........ Barfield struggling to hit 260 in AAA, Kouzmanoff putting up solind numbers in San Diego at a position the Indians really could use someone decent at right now

Shapiro is a below average GM

Wedge is a garbage manager

When the deal was first made, I was initially for it because Kouzmanoff not been hitting too well and I thought that they really needed another 2nd baseman. Little did I know, it was a 3rd baseman that they really needed. They weren't having any problems with Kevin like Wedge was having with Phillips but I guess they thought that Marte was going to be the answer at 3rd.

It certainly would be a nice infield with KK at third and Phillips at second and JP, I guess, at short. Shapiro has made some good moves but I think the bad ones have far out weighed those.

I think there would have to be some type of blow up in the clubhouse for them to ever let Wedge go. He and Shapiro are too tight and, in addition to Shelton, they can also give Skinner the boot. In fact maybe it is time for a complete housecleaning after the season if no improvement is shown.

Eh, that's only good in the hypothetical. Neither Kouzmanoff nor Phillips would have developed here with Shelton. Like I said, he's the grim [censored]ing reaper for young players. As I've pointed out before, you have to look no further than our CF. Sizemore has the tools to be a superstar but has shown little to no improvement from his rookie season. Hell, he's actually regressed some this season.

As for Shapiro, my problem with him is not the moves he makes, it's the fact that he doesn't make enough. That's going to have to change soon because this team is going nowhere but the basement with the current roster.

I'd be happy to see the entire staff replaced with the exception of Willis, but that ain't happening anytime soon. Wedge, as much as I despise a majority of his decisions, has been relatively successful and really shouldn't be in that much hot water based on a bad season with a bunch of stiffs. Shelton's continued employment, on the other hand, absolutely baffles me.

Buffalo Bisons right-hander Adam Miller, the Indians' top prospect entering the season, has been placed on the Class AAA disabled list because of an open callous on a finger of his pitching hand.

Miller, scratched from a weekend start in Columbus, is 0-1 with a 1.88 ERA in six starts.

This is sort of an example of your statement made above by saying that Shapiro does not make enough moves. I know that you're not supposed to trade away young talent, especially pitchers, but his market value has always been so high we could have gotten a really good position player for Miller and one of our "struggling" hitters during the off-season.

Bullpen blows another lead. Granted Byrd gave Perez a jam, but it would be nice if these scrubs could occasionally get out of that type of situation.

Also, if they chose to keep Byrd in the rotation over Laffey when carmona comes back, they're even dumber than I thought.
