Holy [censored]. There are AA teams that could put together a better lineup than that.

Could they just put Pronk on the DL already for [censored]'s sake? I'd also like to know what the latest in the season any team has ever had their cleanup hitter without a HR. Looking at that lineup, I really think there's a decent chance this team loses 100 games this year...couple that with the abomination the bullpen has become and it's hard not to say there's at least a chance.

They made Buehrle look like a champ last time out...

So I look at the box score and it says Delucci stole home??? Seriously, do people still do that?

On a more serious note, 8 runs in one game but only Peralta had a multi-hit game. At least they capitalized on opportunities. But looks like we can count on scoring 2 or less for a couple games now right?

Sadly, I remember being at the Jake (when we could still call it that) back in the good old days when 6 or 7 guys in the starting lineup were batting over 300. I used to love that! Now, well...

Then again I also remember being a kid at the old stadium when you could show up 10 minutes before game time and sit right on top of the Indians dugout and watch our last place Tribe heroes get hammered every night. I loved those guys... Pat Tabler, Andre Thornton, and of course, the Grover (Hargrove). Ah yes, at least we're not there again.

Guess I wandered off a little there for a minute...it's okay, I'm back now!

Aaron Laffey will take all the help he can get.
When the rookie left-hander wasn't working out of trouble Tuesday night at Progressive Field, he was more than happy to let the Chicago White Sox lend him a hand. Laffey and the Indians were not about to complain about beauty marks after knocking off the American League Central Division leaders, 8-2.
It may not have been Laffey's best outing, but it beat the alternative of good numbers in a losing cause. That was the case last week in Chicago when he went seven innings, striking out eight, and was on the losing end, 3-1.

Pluto: Hafner is better off on the disabled list

Let's start with the easiest move, put Travis Hafner on the disa bled list.
There has been something wrong with the Tribe's designated hitter for a while, and an inflamed right shoulder obviously would affect his left-handed swing. It's the right arm that supplies much of the power.
If the Indians want to play some games with the roster by waiting a few days to officially place Hafner on the inactive list, that's fine. But if they are even thinking for a moment that a few days' rest will fix their DH with the .217 batting average, they're setting him up and the team for more frustration.

Sore shoulder downs Cleveland Indians' Travis Hafner for two more games

If the Indians put Travis Hafner on the disabled list with a sore right shoulder, at least they'll have an excuse for his .217 batting average.
After revealing Monday night Hafner didn't start against the White Sox because of a sore right shoulder, manager Eric Wedge announced that Hafner would miss Tuesday and today's games against first-place Chicago. After Thursday's off-day, Wedge said the Indians will have a better idea if he has to go on the disabled list.
"We're taking it day by day, but if it lingers, we're going to have to think about putting him on the DL. But I don't want to jump right into that now."

Pluto is right. Just shut Hafner down for a month to see if he can heal up. That way we have an excuse to send him down to the minors (rehab assignment) In the meanwhile let Aubrey see if he can hit up here and keep Francisco in the lineup on a daily basis.

Agreed, 100%.

Also, I know its been discussed here before, but I'm also now in favor of sending down Cabrera. His fielding was his only bright spot yet he had 2 potentially costly errors yesterday. His average just sits in the upper .180s. Bring up Barfield, give him another chance, and let Cabrera work on his swing in AAA.
