A few more tidbits from Chris Welsh earlier today...

You can pretty much bank on the Harang, Arroyo, Belisle, Fogg, Affeldt rotation barring an injury or implosion. Cueto might make it as a long reliever. Expect Bailey to start in AAA, but be on the fast track to make it back up during the season. Said he doesn't know why people say Cueto is small like Pedro... said more like "Pedro's big brother."

SARASOTA, Fla. -- There are no finished products at this point in spring training. Pitchers are still refining their breaking pitches and hitters are trying to regain their timing. The one-on-one battles are reduced to their most basic level, and raw ability shines brighter than ever.
In that light, it makes sense that minor-league outfielder Drew Anderson is the Cincinnati Reds' leading hitter, and Chris Dickerson, a physical marvel with a hole in his swing, had a double, triple, home run and stolen base on the opening weekend.

Yesterday's game: Lost to Pittsburgh 13-8. The teams' night game was rained out. Johnny Cueto allowed one hit in three innings, and Brandon Phillips had a three-run homer, an RBI single, a sacrifice fly and a stolen base.

Every article about the Reds this morning touched on this clown's stupid-ass attitudes towards walks and veterans. [censored]in' awesome.

At the least the media is noting his obvious character flaws. When the team is in the [censored]ter by June and the offense has gone to hell, hopefully the writers will have enough knowledge to point at the real cause.

As long as Dusty is saying be aggressive with pitches you can do some damage to I actually have no problem with this approach. Now, if he is of the belief they should be up there swinging at anything to avoid a BB then I have a big issue.

I honestly don't believe anyone outside of Boone/Miley/Narron is dumb enough to encourage the latter and Dunn does take too many good pitches.

The BB=base clogging concept still scares the bejesus out of me but I honestly think the media is overblowing this be more aggressive thing. Time will tell.

My real heartburn is going to come when and if he proves his vet loving tendencies to be true but even that may protect the young pitchers so I guess I'm already trying to find silver linings in another cloudy Reds season.

Yesterday's game: Beat Atlanta 13-8. There were 30 mph winds blowing straight out to center field, and the score reflected it. Jeremy Affeldt allowed six runs in 3 1/3 innings. Brandon Phillips hit a two-run double, a wind-aided home run and a sacrifice fly, giving him two homers and nine RBI in the past two games.
