I know that you're not supposed to rush guys up to the major leagues because it might be detrimental to their psyche or whatever but I do not understand why they do not move a guy like the pitcher in Akron who has about a 1.00+ ERA up to Columbus and see what he does at the AAA level and then if he performs well move him to Cleveland. The Indians seem to take their time, at least to me, in bringing up pitchers while other teams seem to be willing to take a chance even if the guy is young. I guess I'm just not a big believer in worrying about a athlete's psyche.

I guess even if he has been moved to the bullpen that why not move him to Columbus where he he he might face better hitting and then move them to Cleveland earlier than anticipated.

It's too bad David Huff is off to a slow start this year. There is a golden opportunity for him to get a shot in the rotation. As for now I'm thinking either Laffey goes back to starting or ? comes up from Columbus to temporarily fill the hole from Sowers demotion. Last edited by itownbuckeye; 05-14-2009 at 04:12 PM. Reason: Ohka started @ Columbus today so he won't likely be coming up to start in Sowers' spot |
