anyone shocked?? Anyone who shirtless tans in Central Park and plucks his eyebrows is a candidate for roids' in my book.

This is interesting because a guy and I were talking about this at work just yesterday.
I would say I'm mildly shocked, but steroids allegations and users were just a part of baseball in that time period. Even though that was the time in which I followed baseball closely and idolized alot of those guys, that's something I have to admit. I for one really don't care. It seems like a majority of the players in that time were getting help, so I'm over it. I have so much respect for the game of baseball and the skill sets it takes to play the game, that for me it was entertaining. In no way am I saying taking steroids or HGH when outlawed is ok. It was just entertaining for me, and ultimately that's what I like about sports. Would I rather have watch Hank Aaron set the home run record? Yes. Would I have prefered to see Roger Maris break the single season home run record than McGwire or Bonds? Yes. But I didn't, I saw Mark McGwire blast 500+ foot home runs routinely, and it was pretty entertaining. Sports are supposed to be clean, and that is how it should be. Take away Bonds and Sosa and McGwire's seasons. I have no problem with that, but to me, they all still did it; though it was while enhanced. And that is why it doesn't really bother all that much, I can admit that they did it, just dirty. Maybe it would take Griffey being accused for me to lose complete respect for the game. Oh well, the saga continues.

Considering there were many people on Columbus State's baseball team that took 'roids, I'm not shocked that any professional athlete takes them.

Not shocked at all.
in all honesty, probably 80% or more were doing them in the early 2000s. Pitchers and hitters both. The playing field was even if you think about it, they ALL were doing it

Once again, I find myself unmoved by steroids. We're talking about a sport that doesn't even have a defined playing field. Teams move fences in and out to accommodate their players, pitchers scuff baseballs, guys took pills for years, so what's the big deal?

Rodriguez was an idol of mine when he first came into the league when I was a little kid. This news saddens me. I am surprised, although I know I shouldn't be..
