Thought I'd review my draft and give everyone a good laugh:
RD/Player/Comments 1. Jose Reyes/ Lands on the DL for severe vaginal cramping after a completely innefective start. Waste so far 2. CC Sabathia/ Solid but nothing great so far 6-4 with a 3.7ish ERA 3. Brian MaCann/ Got one right but scared the [censored] out of me when he was on the DL and they thought he might be going blind. Seriously. 4. Brandon Webb/ 4 IP, got rocked probably going to miss the season now. Most durable big name pitcher in baseball the last 5 years by the way. 5. Dan Haren/ 2.23 ERA/.82 WHIP/96 K's thank you very much. To bad he plays for such a [censored]ty team and only has 6 wins. 6. Fransisco Rodriguez/ No complaints here 7. Chipper Jones/ Larry started off slow as hell but he's picked it up lately. Still only has 8 HR and 30 some RBI. ![]() 8. Rich Harden/ Plenty of K's, only 1 trip to the DL so far. Best you can ask of him. Like all my starters he's Win challenged. 9. Jonathan Broxton/ 6 wins to go with the 18 saves doesn't suck. 10. Trevor Hoffman/ Started on the DL but has been lights out since. 11. Kerry Wood/ Traded him along with Milton Bradley for Lance Berkman. That worked out well although Berkman isn't having a Berkman kind of year. 12. Kelly Johnson/ Seemed like a good idea at the time. ![]() 13. Justin Upton/ Great pick this late...too bad I cut him soon afterward. OPSing over 1.00 with 9 SB's ...[censored] me. ![]() ![]() 14. Andre Ethier/ Nice way to break the stupidity streak. 15. Chad Qualls/ meh 16. Elijah Dukes/ It still makes me ill I decided to keep this [censored]head and cut Upton. 17. Milton Bradley/ turned into fat Elvis. 18. Adrian Beltre/ Cut...worthless bastard. 19. Adam LaRoche/ Cut...WTF was I thinking? 20. Dave Bush/Cut...nice [censored]ing run of picks here genius. 21. Mike Cameron/ Old Faithful doing just fine. 22. Hiroki Kuroda/ Extendo trip to the DL but may very well save my ass with the zero I'm going to get from Webb. Like all my starters he has a great stat line but is 2-3 in wins. 23. Jack Cust/ Donkey light. Pretty damn good stats for this late.
PS I would be remiss if I didn't mention my good luck in grabbing Okajima off the scrap heap. 32K's in 32 IP with 14 Holds and a 2.5 ERA is kinda nice. Last edited by Jaxbuck; 06-24-2009 at 11:01 PM. |

6/15 I pick up Josh Outman from the FA pile.
6/20 Outman goes on the DL with season ending elbow surgery. 7/6 I pick up Dallas Braden from the FA pile. 7/7 Braden goes on bereavement leave. ![]() For the sake of players and their families I will make no more FA pitching moves this year. |

Good thing I sat Hudson and Span on my bench today since they're slumping. Span jacked one, and Hudson jacked two this afternoon. To add insult to injury, Buehrle and Lohse both got shelled.
[censored]ing awesome, I'm so dropping like a stone this week. |

Same here. I'm going to start offering up trades hot and heavy during the AS break because this current team just can't get over the hump. Too many injuries and too much bad luck. |

Yeah unlike Walt Jocketty I don't see any sense in standing pat with a [censored]ty team. [censored]ing Webb, Reyes and Sabathia just killed me. |

I am gambling that Chipper can stay relatively healthy for the second half, 3b has been a revolving door for me. Besides, I had a plethera of good outfielders and I was having trouble getting Dye in the lineup consistently, so now I won't have that problem. If the [censored]ty D-Backs can get Haren 3 runs per game (I know asking for too much), he is going to be a good pickup for me as I didn't have a true ace.
I thought it was a good and fair trade, much better than the original offer of Haren and a bag of balls for both Bay AND Kinsler was it Jax? ![]() |
