Even more eerie: Boston has a secretary named Kennedy and St. Louis has a secretary named Lincoln.

What's happening here is just flat-out good for baseball. In the day of the "me-first" greedy whore athlete, we as baseball fans have truly been blessed to watch Curt Schilling basically "stapled" together to be able to walk, let alone humiliate major-league hitters. There aren't many left, but Schilling is truly what's "good" about professional sports.
Best of luck to the Bosox on one more win. I'm not a fan of theirs, but the "1918" stuff needs to be put to rest. The franchise and their fans deserve this.

You know what would truly be eerie....
Red Sox become first team to go down 3-0 and win a series and then become the second team to lose a 3-0 lead all in the same year. Also, if the Cardinals could get it to a game 7 and win it would happen on Halloween night that the curse would remain in tact.
I am a huge Bosox fan and over the years we have become conditioned to think this way...if there is a way for them to break my heart, they'll find it and it will happen. This would truly be the worst ever. To come back and defeat the DAMN Yankees after being down 0-3 (the highest of highs) to being up 3-0 in the WS and lose 4 straight to let it slip away (the lowest of lows).
There would be some MASS suicide happening outside Fenway that night.

Without question, I want the Red Sox to win. Because I'm a fan of sports, I would've liked this series to go 7. It sucks that such a great year of playoff baseball could end with a sweep in the World Series.

You can hate us all you want, but its the way it is. I wish it wasn't as it sucks to always think the worst will happen when it comes to rooting for your favorite team, but it is what it is.
One thing you must say though is that a Red Sox fan can never be called a bandwagon fan, as there has never been a bandwagon to jump on. They are incredibly loyal and always watch until that last pitch with the hope that somehow, someway their team will find a way to get it done. Always hopeful, wanting to believe.
This could be it. Everything points that way and I will enjoy every minute of the ride, regardless of the outcome, just like always.
