"everyone is dwelling on last season"
Uh, yea. It's not just last season. Corkgate Beaning - and subsequent lack of power malcontent leaving the bench and stadium-------quitter. Juice ????? Allegedly!!!! When the going gets tough, Susa just goes. |

If you can get the Cubs to foot most of the bill, why not do it? Griffey's as useful as [censored] on a nun.

Maybe the Cubs will refuse to trade him to the Yankees and instead give him away to the Red Sox.

Sammy to the O's sometime next week.
Just heard on WGN radio that the deal for Sammy to Baltimore should finalize early next week. Didn't say any specifics regarding money or other players.
Heard it on radio. I'll look for a web link to post here. The deal is contigent on Sammy passes his physical and dismissing his no-trade clause. Heres the link on Sportsline. Cubs close to deal. Last edited by Bestbuck36; 01-28-2005 at 11:58 PM. Reason: Add link. |

Pretty risky move by the O's, I was reading that their fans were upset because they were pretty quiet this off season, maybe they felt the pressure.

Rumor: Sosa & Ponson won't be Orioles next year
As I said in another thread, the new interim manager for the Orioles is practically from my home town. My good friend went to their games over the weekend courtesy of Mr. Perlozzo. He was in the dugout before the games and had dinner with him Friday night. According to him, Sammy and Ponson are lazy, have quit on the team, and won't be back next year. He also thinks he has a good shot at being the next manager full time if he stays .500 during his interim phase.

not shocking. ponson came to camp after signing that fat contract and was out of shape. and sosa has shrunk dried up sponge. he is tiny compared to how he used to look. and his numbers are suffering as a result.

I could tell you that without insider knowledge. Now what I really want to know is who "accidentally" shot up Palmeiro with steroids.

I know its not exactly a ground breaking story....but it is from the lips of the manager, so there's no second guessing.
