CLEVELAND (AP) - Cavaliers All-Star forward LeBron James has been hospitalized for tests on a strained chest muscle he doesn't know how he injured.

James was admitted to the Cleveland Clinic on Wednesday night as he continued to experience discomfort for what has been diagnosed by team doctors as a strained left pectoral muscle. The team didn't reveal James' hospital stay until Thursday when the 20-year-old did not practice with the Cavaliers.
Cavaliers general manager Danny Ferry said all the preliminary testing done on James has been normal. Ferry hopes James can be released on Thursday. The Cavaliers have a home preseason game Friday night against Philadelphia.

James did not play in Cleveland's game Tuesday night in Pittsburgh because of the muscle strain. He was visibly wincing in pain during Wednesday's workout at Quicken Loans Arena, and afterward said he didn't know how he hurt his chest.

"I don't remember getting elbowed in the chest or pushed," said James, who scored 16 points in game Monday night against Washington. "It was something I never felt before."

The Cavs are hopeful that he will be released by tonight, hes doubtful for tomorrows game.

They arent sure what is wrong yet, but it is nothing serious...

Quicken Arena would be ok, and actually one of the more bearable corporate names. But the loans just sends it straight to the crapper

CLEVELAND - LeBron James was admitted to the Cleveland Clinic on Wednesday night for more tests on a strained chest muscle.
The Cavaliers announced his hospitalization after practice Thursday. Team doctors originally diagnosed a left pectoralis strain, but it is not known how the All-Star forward suffered the injury.
James played in Monday’s preseason opener in Washington, but sat out Tuesday’s game against Boston in Pittsburgh. He experienced discomfort when he tried to practice Wednesday.
“All the test results we have back so far have been good,” General Manager Danny Ferry said. “Everything we’ve heard from the tests is nothing to be concerned about. We are just trying to be cautious and precautionary as much as possible as we would do with any of our guys.
Ferry said he is under the belief that James’ heart is not an issue.
“Every indication that we have to this point is that it is a muscle injury,” Ferry said. “We’ve done test after test, and everything has been positive so far.”
Head Coach Mike Brown visited James early Thursday evening. Brown said James had a slight fever, and the team suggested he stay in the hospital another night.
Brown reiterated that James was doing fine.
“He was up and about just now,” Brown said on his weekly radio show. “And he had three or four different orders of food coming into the room, so I know he’s more than fine.”
Brown said there is a chance James may be released from the Clinic today. He said James will not play in tonight’s game against Philadelphia at Quicken Loans Arena, or in Saturday night’s game in Milwaukee.
“He has missed a couple of days of practice, so we have to get him back out on the practice floor before throwing him into a game,” Brown said.
James missed just five games because of injuries during his first two seasons as a pro. He sat out three games with a sprained left ankle during his rookie year and two games with a sprained left ankle last season.
A broken left cheekbone forced James to wear a protective mask for several games last season, but that injury did not sideline him.
In addition to James, the Cavaliers will likely not have Sasha Pavlovic and Ira Newble in the lineup tonight. Newble has missed the start of the preseason because of a strained right foot. Pavlovic suffered a left hip pointer in Tuesday’s game and is listed as doubtful.
Martynas Andriuskevicius did not practice Thursday because of flu-like symptoms and is listed as questionable. Jahidi White, who has tendinitis in his left quad, also is questionable. CLEVELAND (AP) -- Cavaliers All-Star forward LeBron James was released from the hospital Friday following a two-night stay because of a virus that caused severe pain in his chest.
James was hospitalized Wednesday for what the team initially called a strained pectoral muscle. But Cavaliers general manager Danny Ferry said Friday that James came down with pleurisy, an inflammation of the thin layers of tissue covering the lungs and chest cavity.
James is being treated with antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medication. He will miss the team's preseason home opener Friday night against Philadelphia.
James was admitted to the Cleveland Clinic on Wednesday after pain on the left side of his chest worsened after practice. He underwent a series of tests Thursday.
The third-year pro said he woke up in pain Tuesday morning after scoring 16 points the previous night in the Cavs' preseason opener against Washington.
James winced in pain a few times during practice Wednesday and said afterward that the pain was something he never felt before.
James has been remarkably durable during his first two seasons in the NBA.
As a rookie, he missed three games with a sprained right ankle. Last season, he missed only two games with a sprained left ankle.
In his second season, he led the league in minutes per game (42.4) and minutes played (3,388) while becoming just the fifth player in league history to average 27 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for a season.

As a way of acknowledging the All-Star forward's impact, Nike has hung a billboard of James on the side of a building near Quicken Loans Arena, home of the Cavaliers, that is 110 feet high and 212 feet wide.
On the massive mesh banner, James soars toward an unseen basket with his right arm extended over his head, ready to deliver one of his signature slam dunks. Next to the sprawling reproduction of the photograph taken during his rookie season are the words: "WE ARE ALL WITNESSES."
"It's simple, but it says it all," said Chris Marsh of Avon Lake, one of several people to pause and look at the banner, which has quickly become Cleveland's newest tourist attraction. "Just like with Michael Jordan, we are witnessing the same thing, just in a different era. It's awesome."
Nike's intent was to honor James for his work on and off the floor.
"The idea was to let Cleveland fans have the opportunity to say that we are watching the growth and development of LeBron and the Cavaliers, and not just on the court but in the community," said company spokesman Rodney Knox. "We are watching LeBron and this team grow and grow."
The photo used for the billboard was taken on Nov. 15, 2003. It captures James in mid-flight on a breakaway in a game against the Philadelphia 76ers.

In only two seasons as a pro, James has blossomed into one of the game's best players while becoming a global marketing icon, following in the shoes of Jordan, the 20-year-old's boyhood idol.
Knox said the billboard, which features the omnipresent Nike swoosh, is not tied to a marketing campaign for James' new sneaker line, Zoom LeBron III, which will hit stores later this month.
As motorists craned their necks and pedestrians stopped to view the 2,700-pound banner, Victor Darby stood below giving directions over a cell phone to his friend, Tyler Newell, who was about to drive back to Washington, D.C.
"I told him, 'Man, you got to come back and see this,"' Darby said. "
Moments later, Newell pulled up, got out of his truck and soaked in the larger-than-life LeBron.
"Whoa," Newell said. "Now that's big. It should be. He's the King."
When James was a rookie, Nike promoted his first sneaker by placing a four-story billboard of his likeness on Seventh Avenue just a block from Madison Square Garden. The apparel giant had been looking for the right location in Cleveland, and settled on the Landmark Building next to Terminal Tower, the city's best known building.
When he was still a senior at Akron's St. Vincent-St. Mary High School, James signed a seven-year $90 million endorsement contract with Nike, the richest initial shoe deal offered to an athlete.
As of Thursday afternoon, James had still not seen the giant billboard.
"Where's it at?" he said, peering through a window outside the club's practice court. "I'm going to drive over and take a look at it. I heard it's pretty big."

Lebron James is the best thing to ever happen to cleveland. Hes physically the best player in the NBA. He can post up over almost any forward in the league, yet hes one if not the fastest players in the league also. Last year he was great and all, but this year he is ALOT better, he can hit any shot on the floor consistently this year, when last year hes outside shooting wasnt really that great...
