Madison Square Garden Brawl
Nuggets v.s. Knicks
All 10 players on floor ejected. Started with Mardy Collins commiting a flagrant foul on JR Smith. Carmelo with a LOUD punch on Mardy Collins. His punishment should be pretty big...it's a shame since he is having an MVP type year thus far. Isiah Thomas- "They were having their way with us. I think J.R. Smith had just made one dunk when he reversed and spun in the air. And I think Mardy didn't want our home crowd to see that again. So he fouled him." -"Clearly this isn't how we or the NBA wants to be perceived. It should have been a foul and the guy takes two free throws and maybe some words, but it shouldn't have escalated. This isn't even a rivalry." Nate Robinson- "If we're up 20 points, we're not going to play Stephon (Marbury) and Eddy (Curry). It's like a slap in the face, saying we're going to embarrass you like that." Tim Frank (NBA spokesman)- said the league would "review the incident in its entirety. Until then, it would not be appropriate to comment." Results: Carmelo Anthony: 15 games J.R. Smith: 10 games Nate Robinson: 10 games Mardy Collins: 6 games Jared Jeffries: 4 games Nene: 1 game (leaving bench) Jerome James: 1 game (leaving bench) Each team was fined $500,000. Isiah Thomas' post-game press conference was [censored]ING BULL[censored]!!!! He basically defended Mardy Collins' cheap foul at the end by saying that the Nuggets shouldn't have had any starters in the game at that point. Then Nate Robinson says the SAME [censored]ING THING!!!
Suspensions should be huge. Nate Robinson -25 games J.R. Smith - 25 games Mardy Collins - 15 games Carmelo Anthony - 25 games and yes, for his postgame comments... Isiah Thomas... 10 games. EDIT: I CAN'T SAY HOW [censored]ING [censored]ED I AM THAT THIS HAPPENED. AND FOR ISIAH TO DEFEND THE INSTIGATION [censored]ES ME OFF EVEN MORE. THE NBA HAS A SERIOUS IMAGE PROBLEM. |

10 Game suspension minimum. IMO. For everyone. That may be too easy. BUT with a stipulation that any similar infraction is faced with a 1/2 the season suspension then a lifetime ban. No questions, no quarter.

This is why Carmelo will never be able to catch the endorsements like DWade and Lebron... that and the fact that he's never going to be as good a basketball player.
'Melo is a thug. Plain and simple. |
