Prosecutors ask to drop Kobe charges
http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news...25/detail.html
Looks like Kobe is off da hook, and will probably just have to settle a civil lawsuit. I guess no one will ever know exactly what happened.

It's all about the money at this point. The woman will get paid and Kobe's wife will get another 4 million dollar ring.

Maybe you fellas should pay attention.
This is not a case of "I got money so let me off the hook". The prosecution is withholding evidence that suggest Kobe's innocence. They rather dismiss than release this info. The judge still has to approve this dismissal.
The girl wont testify in the criminal trial because of embarrassment but she will do it for money in a civil suit ? There is a price on her pride. Sounds fishy to me !
Kobe is considering false arrest and slander charges. He has lost 100's of millions on what are looking like false allegations. Whatever the hidden evidence is must be strong.
read this before you assume he's guilty. Isn't this a country when we are innocent until proven guilty ? And zero proof in this one. The proof indicates his innocence.

It's probably good Kobe has some money, otherwise a fame seeking prosecutor might have gotten away with bringing him up on charges he didn't have enough evidence to execute. The prosecutors in Eagle County should be liable for the millions of dollars Kobe lost in endorsements. This case has been a fraud from the outset, and should never have been bound over for trial.

So according to whats out there now:
-The defense finds out an expert witness for the prosecution has info that supports Kobe's story.
-The prosecution now wants to drop charges but were going as far as jury selection untill the defense discoverd this factoid.
If I am reding this correctly and this really went down this way, Kobe is due lawyers fees at the very minimum, the slut is due nothing but a bitch slapping and that DA needs to be on trial for his freedom soon. What an absolute travesty.

another person going after a celebrity for some fast cash exposed as a fraud. here's hoping she gets nothing in the civil suit.
too bad. kobe's perimeter shooting would've helped the team in athens a few weeks ago. and yes, he would have been there if it wouldn't have been for this so-called trial.

Her lawyer has now released a "statement" that was written by here team and signed by Kobe. In it, are words like "she isn't lying, we just have two different views of what happened that night". And apologies to everyone.
The letter also say's that this letter cannot be used against Kobe in the civil trial because he wants to stick to his initial story and not settle the case.
Hey, if signing a bogus letter gets me out of a risky trial, I'll sign my name, my mama's name, my daddy's name and any other name they want me to sign.
