Wallace never fit in in Chicago. He'll be able to wear his head band and fro without the team giving him [censored] here. Plus, he'll be with LBJ and that should motivate him. He's infinitely tougher than Gooden.

A deal that should make the Cavs better short term yet has contracts very similar in length and money that still gives them flexibility long term. I like it, very excited to see how long it takes for these guys to gel.

My way too early reaction is that I like this deal. Like somebody already said, Ferry traded away most of the frustrating players on the team for some solid contributors. He made a big move, which tells the fans and LeBron that the franchise is not content to be idle. He also added a draft pick. It's a second rounder so it may not mean much in the grand scheme of things, but to me it's nice to see an extra pick coming after all the picks the Cavs have given up in their recent history. Perhaps most importantly, he did all of this in a way that does not seriously restrict the Cavs' ability to make some more meaningful moves over the next couple years with expiring contracts.

It trumps all things because it's the Ohio State-M*ch*g*n game. And I would like to think our guys understand that, but there's only one demonstration of understanding that and that's at 12:00 noon on Saturday.

Ugh. WHat I don't like about this trade is having to look at Delonte West's ugly mug three nights a week.
Wallace and Varejao on the floor makes for a pretty darn good rebounding and defensive front court. Smith and Z both have nice mid-range games. It'll be nice to be able to mix and match with those four. Late in games, Brown will have a good offense-defense subbing option, assuming he doesn't [censored] it up.
Hell, they lose 2 regulars, 1 part-timer in Newble, one occasional contributor in Marshall, and a couple of guys that rarely see significant minutes in Brown and Simmons. Replace them with 4 guys that should all play regular minutes and a draft pick? Sounds good to me.
Someone call ESPN and tell them to "forget" to mention that Shannon Brown was included in the deal before cbf40 blows up the Q.

So Ferry was able to get something good done when most (including myself) thought he didn't have anything to work with. Seems to have improved the team without hurting them in the future. This is a good sign for the next two years.

How the hell did I fail to mention the obscene quantity of hair on the floor when these two are out there together?
