agreed, but i do worry that the winner of the west may be spent by the time they make the finals.

That could be the case. However, I think the likelihood is greater that the West will simply put a beat down even in a "tired" state.

I'm a West fan... being a Suns fan. But let's be real here... The Celtics are THE TEAM TO BEAT. They rolled the Lakers 110-91 at the Staples Center... and won 107-94 in the Garden.

Well, hopefully Bynum will be able to comeback in the playoffs.

I don't think either game is much of a litmus for what would occur now. They both occurred in 2007, and Pau wasn't a part of the Lakers yet. That's JMHO.

Let's evaluate some things:

1) Winning percentage of teams in playoffs:

East: 0.584 average
West: 0.662 average.

Almost 8 percentage points higher in winning percentage for the West.

2) Range of winning percentage of teams in playoffs:

East: 0.354
