Lakers 07-08 Thread
So, not looking bad, I realize it's still early in the season but so far the guys are playing really good team basketball.
Bynum is looking great this year, he shoots well, blocks well and just collects rebounds, the key to running the triangle is a good center.
Kobe Bryant seems to have stepped back a bit and let his teammates work with him instead of just throwing up 50 shots a game. He's taking smarter shots, he's getting more assists, he actually trusts his teammates to make shots which is a huge step for him as a player.
Derrick Fisher is bringing a lot of energy to the team, it shows, he's always moving, never stops running and never gives up on a play.
They are still young, but the bench is actually producing unlike recent Lakers teams where the bench players came in and you just hoped they didn't let the other team get too far ahead.
I gotta say, so far, I am pleasantly surprised, with all the drama that built in the beginning with the whole Kobe trade saga I was afraid that this team was going to be a wash, but if they stay healthy, we might actually get past the first round of the playoffs this year.

Yeah, I thought that was funny actually. One would think, that with the price of Lakers tickets, 60$ to sit so far back you can't see [censored], that a free $1 taco wouldn't quite get a reaction out of the crowd.

Floor Seats watching the Lakers...
I agree with that post... All of SoCal is laker land for sure, and its going to be fun to see these guys play better and better team ball down the stretch.
Now that Buckeye season is over I can think about watching some hoops between trips to Tahoe, or Mammoth, or wherever the fresh powder lies.
But what is going to really be fun to see is if these guys can beat a healthy San Antonio team, and if they can continue to dominate Phx.

We'll see what happens, so far they have been impressing me. I was expecting them to lose to New Orleans, but they dominated, so I was expecting a hangover from that win tonight but they just kept up the pace. This is a young team, so I still half expect that next game let down. I will say, I still want to reach through my tv and boot Kwame back to the bench every time he comes in though.
I remember last year I was frustrated that they didn't pull the Bynum and Odom for Kidd trade, but looking at where we are now I think Kupchak may have had the right idea. 17 rebounds tonight, it's good to see the second chances that opposing teams got last year reduced this year, it's also good to see the turnovers way down.
Let's just hope we can avoid injury.
