I don't think any Cavs would tell you that they expected Cleveland to make it to the Eastern Conference finals.
This series just shows how much help LeBron needs. Not how good Boston is.
Detroit is the better overall team. It will be an interesting series, IMO. I like Billups, Hamilton, Prince, and Wallace more than Allen, Pierce, KG, and Rondo.
Thanks, that was my point apparently reading the rest of the post was optional.

Paul Pierce came to play yesterday. He did it on the outside. He took the ball to the basket. He got to the line. He made some nice looks. That had to be the best game of his career... all things considered.
Lebron James was the best player in the league yesterday. Most other days, I would say that it's Kobe. But no one... not Kobe... not Paul Pierce... not Chris Paul... could have done what Lebron did yesterday in Game 7 on the road with little help against the best defensive team in the league. No one.
Yeah, this thread was a disaster yesterday. Glad I waited to post. I will talk offseason in the Cavs thread but time to talk about the game.
Paul Pierce finally had a game. I didn't think he could do that against LeBron and that is the reason Boston won, Plain and simple. Yes our supporting cast didn't show up, but alot of Boston's supporting cast didn't show up either. To me that was a wash.
While people will look at the jump ball as the turning point I look at the play leading up to that jump ball. West missed an open 3 pointer. He hits that, the game is tied and it really becomes interesting. He missed it and we couldn't secure the rebound. Really I thought there was a foul there and was shocked it was a jump ball.
Another thing was the bounces all went to the Celtics. When Boston missed their shots they missed them badly... so badly it out bounced the rebounding position we had. Long rebounds just favor the offsensive team. Then when their is a tip back it finds an open Pierce for a 3 pointer. It was just frustrating.
So tip the cap to Paul Pierce and Boston. Good luck against Detroit cuz you will need it. Not because Detroit is better, the Cavs played Boston tough and drained the Celtics. And when all of your stars are in their 30s, playing every other day for 3 weeks will catch up to you at some point. THAT will prove to be the biggest test for Boston... fatigue.

Their needs to be some major changes this offseason for Cleveland to even have a chance to resign LeBron.
The first peron that needs to be traded is PAVS, the kid is horrible, granted he can hit some 3's but other than that pathetic. They need to find a post up player that can shoot the ball (KOFUS). Wallace has no offensive game. Joe Smith is a very good player but lacks the strength to post up. Varajoa isnt that good of a shooter and is a little uncoordinated. Wally well, when hes on hes on and when hes off hes JUNK.
As I see it only players that are worth keeping is (other than Lebron of course)
Joe Smith
BROWN (why didnt he play at all in the playoffs)
West
Varajoa
Z
Boobie

If any kids recognized what he mouthed, they already knew that language from other sources.
Anymore, cursing is about the least worry when it comes to role models.
Steroids, cheating refs, cheating coaches, rapists, drugs, murder...if cursing is the worst thing that happens, I'd call it a good night.

Yesterday reminded me why I do not watch the NBA during the regular season and the only reason that I watched the Celtics-Cavs series was because Cleveland was in it. The NBA no longer plays basketball the way basketball is supposed to be played. It is more like a rugby game and I'm not just talking about one game or one team. Then all play the same way. There is so much traveling, pushing, grabbing, and whatever else the players can get away with without punching another player is fine. I guess I would like for the NBA to go back to the days of when guys like Bill Russell, Sam Jones, and Elgin Baylor used to play and athleticism and skill meant something. I will take the college game and left the NBA players get paid all of the money for not playing what they call basketball.
