Beat the Spurs by 5. I will be impressed when they do it in the playoffs. |

Any time you can go into San Antonio and come out with a victory, it is a good thing. I think Terry Porter has this team on the right track. I'm looking forward to seeing how the new guys gel with the old guys and what becomes of the offense. They played pretty well tonight.
You're right that it doesn't matter until they prove themselves in the playoffs. Terry Porter went to his bench quite a bit which us Suns fans aren't used to. Hopefully that will help keep Nash, Hill and Shaq fresher throughout the season and give us some depth when playoff time comes around. I'm definitely looking foward to this season. But then again I was looking forward to ASU football and now that makes me want to puke. Hopefully the Suns will give their fans a different result. |

Will I get shot for mentioning Mike D'Antoni in the 08-09 Suns thread? Anyone think he's a good enough coach to get the Knicks to the playoffs in his first season? The Knicks put up some serious points tongiht...first game obviosuly, but a much different tempo and attitude....

No you won't get shot, but I am very glad Steve Kerr kicked his ass out of Phoenix. It was very interesting that D'Antoni didn't play Stephon Marbury at all tonight. The Knicks did put up big numbers but the Heat aren't exactly the best team in the East either. I will give credit to D'Antoni that his style is fun and allows his players to put up big numbers, but I don't think the Knicks have the players to consistently put up those numbers. D'Antoni had great shooters in Phoenix and he doesn't have that same talent in New York. I actually hope he is successful in New York because the style is fun to watch. New York won't have a better record than Boston Orlando Detroit Atlanta Cleveland Toronto New Jersey Washington So no playoffs for the Knicks. |

Ugly game tonight for the Suns. Not gonna win with 20+ turnovers. Could the Hornets miss a [censored]ing 3? I hate Posey!! Well atleast it was close in the end even though the Suns played like [censored]. I guess that's one positive.

20 turnovers huh? i didn't watch, but Nash must have had one of his nights.

I think Nash only had 4 turnovers - but 3 of them came on consecutive drives with about 3 minutes left in the 4th quarter which basically put them away.
Guys were making bad passes, traveling, charges, stepping out of bounds and it was getting ridiculous. The refs blew their whistle at everything and it was really irritating to watch. The Phoenix fans started cheering when New Orleans FINALLy got a call against them. It was that bad. The Suns just weren't in sync and the Hornets made 5 heart stabbing 3 pointers in the 4th quarter. |

Dragic will get more playing time if he can get better. Right now he isn't doing much with the second team. Hopefully he will progress nicely and can take some of Nash's minutes, but right now he's not good enough to help the Suns win. The Suns usually struggle when Nash is taking all the shots. That means that Nash's teammates aren't pulling their weight because Nash usually doesn't shoot a lot unless his teammates are struggling. So Byron Scott's method worked, but the Suns were in a haze the entire game. It's hard to argue with Nash taking shots? He has some of the best shooting percentages in the league. I think he lets too many shooting opportunities get away because he is thinking pass too much. |

2-1 now with a win over Portland over the weekend.

Nash looks like crap so far. turnovers, missed layups and a step slow on D. Suns are up comfortably though. It is the Nets, afterall.
