Kobe Bryant scored 26 points with 10 rebounds and Paul Gasol had 24 and 14 for the Lakers, who also snapped Boston's 19-game winning streak on Christmas Day and sent the Celtics into a 2-7 skid that is the worst stretch of the New Big Three era.
Paul Pierce scored 21, and newly minted All-Star Ray Allen had 22, but he missed a desperation, off-balance shot at the buzzer while Boston fans clamored for a foul call. Rajon Rondo scored 16 with 12 assists, and Kevin Garnett scored 16 before fouling out with 4:22 left in the fourth quarter.
It was a physical meeting that featured a pair of double-technicals and enough shoving to pass for a playoff game, but both teams were tired when it ended.
Bryant, who scored 61 and 36 in his previous two games, hit three 3-pointers in the fourth quarter, the last with 1:30 left in regulation and Pierce in his face to make it 101-100 - the Lakers' first lead of the half. But after Pierce made one of two free throws with 30 seconds left, Bryant tried to shoot over Pierce again and banged it off the rim.

Bobcats send Morrison to Lakers for Radmanovic - NBA - Yahoo! Sports

On the bright side for the Cavs the Lakers be down another players for the game tomorrow since I doubt the trade will go through before then.

Can't say I understand this move unless it's a precursor to something more. Vlad, at least, shows up offensively once in a blue moon. Neither he nor Morrison play a lick of D; however, Vlad has more experience.

Yeah I would love to know what the Lakers are aiming at with this move. I mean Morrison probably has more offensive upside than Radmonovich and maybe they feel like they can bring that out.

I am confused though, the AP article said Vlad is in the last year of his contract, but on ESPN's Trade Machine it says he has 3 years left? Either way the Lakers aren't really hurting for cap space but maybe that is a motivation here.

I don't get it, there has to be a punchline... Vlad has much better stats, knows the triangle.

what are the years left on the contracts and how much are the salaries??

And, for the record, I was watching a Lakers game a week or so ago, and they were talking about Radmonovich being in the doghouse for consistently being late. Might also be a factor.

Apparently it didn't go over well with Phillip, seeing as he shipped his ass out of town.

I will say, I really like what Charlotte is doing. They've continued to take on skilled players, that are in log-jam situations. Bringing in Boris Diaw and Raja Bell has improved their team 150%. They also just landed Segunda Diop who plays well off the bench.

Radmonovich is essentially, a developed Adam Morrison, so he'll provide a court stretching forward, something Gerald Wallace doesn't do. I'm not sure if Larry Brown is calling these shots, or MJ became a smart GM overnight, but these are pretty good moves and making Charlotte a legit team.

Morrison and Brown both saw scrap minutes, and neither are really ready for big boy NBA basketball. I don't think either can bring much to the Lakers. My guess is LA is poised to make another move, and now they have 2 contracts and young players to move.

My thoughts as well when I heard about this move. Trading a 7 footer after another 7 footer goes down, seems a bit odd.. unless there is more to come.

Although Vlad needs to be 20' away from the rim to be comfortable, he's still 7'0.
