Portland Trail Blazers 08-09 season (official thread)
I didn't see a thread - so here's one, albeit late to the game.
Pretty good game going on right now in Portland versus Denver. Denver jumped out early, but Portland leads near the end of the first half and seem to be in control for now. This team is so, so close to being very good. Roy is obviously a beat. Rudy and Sergio are great together. LaMarcus is very good - they have a lot of great role players. And, of course, Greg. I just wish that he would play more. Im flipping back and forth between the bowl game and the Denver game and Pryz. is always out there. If I wanted to see him play, I'd check out the old games on the B10 network... Anyways, thought they needed a thread. |

Denver has figured out how to shut Roy down. Last night he only had 8 coming off a 52 point game against Phoenix and tonight he only has 7.

Man, I have put in some hours of NBA basketball today... Let's see if Greg can put a game together today against the Mavs
edit: and just like that monster put back dunk by GO! |

Roy is doubtful tonight against the C's. Oden was questionable but it looks like he will start. Our bench really needs to step up.

Good thing its the best bench in the League... the C's will still be very, very tough

A few nice post moves tonight as well....Donnie Marshall, Bostin Commentator, said hes a bull on the block the last time he backed Perkins down. |

To your point, bill, I think 36 minutes is the most important stat. Good to see greg staying on the court longer

Great win. No Brandon Roy, who the team had been relying on heavily, but they didn't play timid. The Celtic's veteran mind games didn't work this time. Oden had 13 points and 11 rebounds plus 3 assists.

That is paying dividens now because he is finally getting close to game shape. For a guy his size, it can't be easy to sit for over a year and then be expected to get up and down the court at an NBA level. And he still isn't where he was at conditioning-wise at tOSU. He can get into better shape, but tonight was the first time I saw glimpses of his former abilities throughout the course of a game, not just in 2-3 minute bursts. I got a kick out of his technical tonight too, after Ray Allen fell into the crowd due to a small nudge from Greg....Garnett and the C's started yapping at him, and Greg said something that made all of his teammates breakout laughing. I wish I knew what he said. |

Hopefully it's time for the Lakers to start to worry. I would love an NBA Finals matchup of the Cavs and Blazers. 2 teams I like rather than 2 teams I hate like last year.
