Melo is definitely stepping his game up in the playoffs. Denver is starting to get really dangerous now with a zoned-in Carmelo Anthony and veteran Billups leading the team, not to mention oustanding supporting play from Smith, Nene, Anderson, and Martin.

I think the Nuggets have consistently outplayed the Lakers in both games, and have a great chance to take both games at home and making it very difficult for LA.

Kobe willed them to the win tonight. It was a good game, Lakers showed some heart. This looks like it gonna be an absolute war game in and game out.

why even call time out anymore? just get the rebound and go...you don't have to inbound in that case.

I cringed when they called timeout, down by 2 with well over 10 seconds left in the previous game. There was plenty of time to bring the ball up and run a play with Billups running the show.

To me, calling a timeout in that situation says this:

As a coach you think you're setting up a play is going to be better then the other coach setting up his defense (hubris comes into play here), or ...

Your offensive substitutions will give you an advantage over the other coach's defensive substitutions (a legitimate reason), or ...

You failed as a coach because you don't have a play already figured out to run in this situation.

And all of it is offset by the risk of failure on the in-bounds play, with the guy holding the ball unable to move on the sideline. It's one thing to call timeout when there are less than 8 seconds left, and getting the ball advanced 65 feet because of bull[censored] NBA rules will help you out.
