Burress & Giants Agree on Terms

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) -- Plaxico Burress didn't let an agent stand in the way of joining the New York Giants. The free agent wide receiver officially joined the Giants on Friday, a week after rejecting an offer from the team. He then fired agent Michael Harrison and signed with Drew Rosenhaus, who renewed negotiations.
The six-year, $25 million contract was reached Thursday, and includes an $8 million signing bonus, a football source told The Associated Press, speaking on condition of anonymity.
The speedy former Pittsburgh Steelers receiver met with the Giants last week and turned down a deal similar to the one he agreed to Thursday, causing New York to pull the offer from the table.
"In free agency, when a player leaves our facility, we withdraw the offer and go on to other things," Giants general manager Ernie Accorsi said in a statement.
But Burress liked the situation in New York enough to work out a deal. He now becomes Eli Manning's No. 1 receiver.

The Steelers are not really looking for another receiver anymore. They signed Cedric Wilson from SF, Randle El will probably step into the starting role and Wilson will become the 3rd down guy. They may draft a receiver, but that was in the plans before Burress left.

It'll be real interesting to see how well Plex and Coughlin co-exist. He whined about not getting enough balls in Pittsburgh, so he signs with a team who throws the ball less effectively. Great move Plex!

I think the giants need o-line help b4 a big headed reciever. Anyone who goes to the AFC championship on a team and complains about not getting the ball enough is no one I want on my team.
