Nate Clements the best?
Bills' Clements wants to be top-paid cornerback
I kind of laughed at the article, until I read what he's done in the past couple of years. Best or not, the man has come a long way since that game against Minny.

well, i must say, Nate is pretty damn good, and definitely deserves his payday... i'm not a Bills fan, but i used to really enjoy watching them on D in '03 when Nate and Antoine Winfield were manning the corners... i remember when the Bills played the Dolphins in '03, and Winfield had 5 or 6 solo tackles on Rickey Williams, and forced a fumble... i think, pound for pound, Winfield is the best defender in the NFL... i don't know how much the Vikings are paying Antoine, but i'm guessing that Nate should get a similar contract...

I remember when the bills played the packers when they had Terry Glen. Glen was running a fade route and just as the ball got to him Winfield came over and knocked the [censored] out of him. It was an awesome hit.

As a bengals fan that watched all the games i could last year, i think that the fact that nate held chad johnson to two catches says alot. Champ didnt do that. Nate needs to be PAID. If not, he is more than welcome to sign with cincy next year!

Winfield became the highest paid player on the Vikings when he signed for $12.5 MM. He's easily been their best defender, so it's hard to say they didn't get what they bargained for. Their new cornerback signee this year, Fred Smoot, is paid similar money. I haven't watched Clements nearly as much, but he's pretty bad ass.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I've always thought that Nate was the best out of all the great OSU corners that I've seen (I'm not counting Fox as I've only seen him in old games). Nate may be as good in coverage as Springs and is a better tackler. Nate is as good of a tackler as Mike Doss was and yes, I know Doss was a safety. Nate is just that good of a tackler. Winfield is a good tackler too, but at his size he can't be the tackler that Nate is. Actually not only is he a sure tackler, he is a vicious hitter. He has good size too and he's as fast, if not faster than Plummer, Springs and Winfield. Nate finished third in the NFL's fastest man contest during Pro Bowl week in February.
Yes, I know he had trouble with Johnson in the Minny game, but that was one freaking game. The guy is a total stud.

Did anyone see that vicious hit he had on prettyboy Tom Brady the year the Pats won their first Super Bowl? It knocked Brady's helmet off and put a huge smile on my face!
