it's to the point where you have to bring in some talent and see before casting him aside after 2 seasons. between ridiculous injuries and a total lack of talent on both lines, and the hobo parade of filth at the qb spot, he gets one more season in my mind.

I must honestly say that changing coaches like, like I change my underwear, is part of their problem. There is never any continuity.
The fans in Cleveland are part of the problem inasmuch as they put so much pressure on the organization to win immediately that coaches always make moves that they feel are necessary to win immediately I.E. ruining perfectly good QB's, bringing in geriatrics from other teams, giving away so called mal-contents.

I think the fans in Cleveland are wild, but they deserve more than they have had since 1999.
The old timers that were brought in were brought as much for their leadership as they were for their abilities. That hasn't seemed to work too much either.

"Oh where for out thou"
Give Romeo one more year to develop the defense scheme with the youngsters. That's where I want to see the major improvement. Build the offense through the line, then worry about who your quarterback is.
And trade Braylon Edwards. I know that's what he probably wants, and we'll only get 50 cents on the dollar for him, but he's a [censored]ing cancer. You can take the man out of Michigan, but you can't take the Michigan out of the man. Get the [censored] out of Ohio!!

Now that I live in Cincinnati, I really don't get to see the Brownies much. I can't say with a whole lot of confidence one way or the other if Romeo is the guy. I don't think anyone would have a much better record than 4-11 with this roster. They play hard and for the most part stay in games. If they draft a QB in the first round rather than addressing the line issues, I'll know that the entire organization needs fired. I think Romeo deserves another year to get things on track. Losing Bentely like they did was killer. I think he needs to put a muzzle on Edwards and Winslow, although it is good to see that the guys care about winning.
In my honest opinion, I think it will take 2-3 years for this team to reach playoff caliber. They have to have a strong OL and solid running game. They already have the beginnings of a solid D. They have shown more depth on that side of the ball than I could have imagined with all the injuries. Romeo seems to have the recipe for success. He just needs to get the right pieces in place.
The thing that concerns me most about this team is that the top level management sees to listen to the fans and the talking heads way too much. From what I could tell, Romeo did not want to fire his OC earlier this year. The offense was vanilla and not moving the ball much. However, it seemed that everytime they did open it up, Frye made bad decisions. I honestly thought they needed to run the offense that way. What I would rather have seen them do is to bring in a vet QB to be another set of eyes and to help Charlie along. Anyways, I don't think this team will ever reach championship levels if they keep trying to placate the fans instead of sticking with their plans.
Go Browns and Go Bucks!

considering when rumors of him getting [censored]canned cropped up after the cinci loss, every player to a man went to bat for him, I'd say he has the players' respect.

I think that pretty much hits it on the head for most of us. Not only does this team stink, and the management made horrible decisions, but they've also made personnel decisions that largely alienate the fanbase.
For whatever reason, the expansion Browns seem to have an affair with ACC, SEC, and scUM players whose talent was obviously inflated in college.
I'm not saying they need to draft TS -- but they do need to make better decisions regarding both fan and talent base, and I'm not referring to the mob mentality or taking advice from the mob either.
Anyway, I was kind of happy we lost to Tampa -- hopefully this means we can pick up Thomas. If we drafted AP, I'm 99% sure he'd just get injured again -- and that's the last thing this horrible excuse for a team needs.
I honestly wouldn't be disappointed if they traded Braylon for a 3rd round pick. The guy is scum.
