I am not sure about the legality of Bullfighting in the states, I know it's legal in Mexico, everytime we cross the border we see flyers and what-not for it. However, I think that the legality has a bit to do with it. Also, it's the "mans best friend" factor, if this were cockfighting I am pretty sure there wouldn't be near the outcry because people can't relate to the animals as much, Chicken = food, Dog = pet. Both, however, are illegal in the states so who knows.

He brought that up in the interview as well. Said something to the effect that 10,000 roosters are killed each day to be eaten as some sort of rationalization.

Michael Wilbon was one of the few who "got" OJ Simpson as well, as he had a nice article detailing why many blacks thought he should go free and how stupid those who believed in that were.

If true, this says quite a bit about attitudes toward animals and pets in the African-American community.

Actually it has more to do with the perception that if Vick was white, he wouldn't be in as much trouble as he is in now. Sadly, American history and current events has shown that they are probably right.

JMO it wouldn't matter what color he is or even if he was clear there is so much public opinion and outrage it wouldn't be better or worse for him.
