Ekeen ole buddy, I was not dissing hunting, which I've done, but trying to show how f-in stupid his comparison was. But I've got to say that the life of a dog in a fight ring is not worse than that of a Tyson chicken, in fact, it is better in many ways. But if you are going to snuff your dog, you do it the same way that vets do...painless a sleepy time shot. My main bitch is the way that the dogs suffered needlessly, both in the ring and in being dispatched.

Personal question.
Would you rather be a gladiator or be euthanized?
Pit bulls at Vick's house face deadline - Yahoo! News
Will the vet go to jail too?
(Don't take me wrong. You can throw the Vick brothers under two buses any day of the week so far as I am concerned.)

Good idea. Next time take a bow and arrow instead of being a coward and bringing an assault rifle. Yeah, that takes manly skill.

Oh I didn't take it as a diss....I was just saying..... I heard some idiot defend Vick by saying 'White folks have horseracing and black folks have dog fighting.' I think any decent person will see that breeding pitt bulls to fight other dogs is simply not a sport.

I prefer bow and arrow. It forces you to take an animal from 25 yards (my preferred yardage) or less. There is little room for error in that type of scenario and it's the true test for a sportsman.
Besides, the assault rifle (i.e. semiauto rifle) is not legal to use in Ohio for taking big game but I'm sure you knew that.

The paradox is that I, and more importantly, my children, are not going to come into contact with dogs like Vick had/fought which are relatively less dangerous to people, but are more likely to come across the vicious, abused dogs of idiot thugs and white trash that are extremely dangerous and likely to attack a child without provocation. It may not be the dogs' fault, but as we say in Da Dirrrty South, that don't confront me.

i completely understand your point of view. it doesn't matter whose fault it is as your kid is being attacked. but the problem is this. if we exterminate the pit bull breed as you suggest the thugs and white trash of the world aren't just going to dissapear. they will pick another breed of dog and the revolving door will start all over again. while there is a long list of dogs with aggressive tendancies, any dog through neglect and abuse can be made just as vicious. the difference i think you and i have is you wish to protect yourself and those around you from the dog. and hey, theres a lot of logic to that. i on the other hand wish to eliminate the factor that is making the dog vicious in the first place. and that is the scum bag waste of perfectly good oxygen owner. your conscern is the immediate threat (probably because your stairing it in the face), im conscerned with the persistent threat (probably because the immediate one isn't stairing me in the face).
that is why i have such hatred for people who neglect animals in such a fashion. its not because they are abusing a wonderful beautiful creature of god. i grew up on a cattle farm, *shrug* theres a pecking order in this world. its because they are endangering the lives of all those around them. not to mention that abusing animals is a clear warning sign as to the stability of an individual.
