Kordell Stewart made 2 AFC championship games in a tougher conference at the time then what the NFC was in 2004. The Falcons played 3 teams with winning records last season and beat an 8-8 Rams team in the playoffs that was #17 in total offense and #25 in points against.

playoff system regardless and they had to win their way through it

I know I said I was done with this thread, but I just wanted to ask a simple question, you take all these guys behind the Falcons o-line?

LOL, McNair and Brunell over Vick that is funny. Brunell won't even be a starter next year and McNair can't make it through a full game anymore. The guy is 25 cut him some slack. Vick has never came out and said "I'm the greatest QB in the NFL". The media hypes him because he attracts an audience. You put him behind the O-lines of the Steelers or the Seahawks and the results would be different. The Falcons can run block but me and 4 of you guys would be better pass protectors.

I was wondering about Troy Smith as a pro QB.
Now, I have no doubt he can play and succeed in The League.

Now it is the age excuse. You guys are hilarious. Right now I would take McNair and Brunell over Vick any day of the week. Brunell and McNair have played better than Vick this season and have past success to back it up. McNair led the Titans to the Super Bowl in his 5th season and Brunell passed had a 58% clip and made it to the playoffs for the 3rd time in his 5th season. You put Vick with the Seahawks and he would still suck. They run the same west coast offense and Vick is one of the worst starting QB to ever to play in the west coast offense. I hate to break it to you but the Steelers offensive line has not played well this season. A rookie is starting at LT, Faneca still a pro bowler but not as good as last season, Hartings is done after this season, and Simmons has been absolutley pathetic at RG. Roethlisberger has been running for his life back there and can make big plays with his arm outside the pocket and in the pocket unlike Vick.

I know the Steelers line has struggled this year but compared to the Falcons line it's a Pro-bowl line. McNair led his team to the Super Bowl and Vick led his team to the NFC title game last year, not that big of a difference. McNair is done and Brunell has had some miserable weeks, not to mention that the Redskins are not guaranteed a play-off berth. I don't think the Redskins will make it and the Titans damn sure won't. So you would take two QB's that are for pretty much done over a 25 yr. old with unlimited potential? Good thing you aren't a GM.

I think any player that never made it to a SB would disagree with you on this logic. Look at Elway, he was never really seen as a true "legend" until he actually WON a SB. I'm not in any way comparing Elway to Vick, or even saying they're in the same league, but that one win changes a lot about peoples perception of a QB.
