15-of-27, 167 yards, 2 TD, 1 int.

11-of-23, 112 yards, 1 TD, 1 int.
11-of-26, 116 yards, 0 TD, 3 int.
If my elementary math is correct, that's still better than 50% passing (52.4); but these stats feel incomplete without including rushing totals: 302 yards, 6.2 per-rush average, 3 TDs.

The point of the original post was how bad of a passer he is and 50% isn't all that great by NFL standards.

The thing that should worry Vick fans is that his one skill set (out run everyone on the field) is the most fleeting of all skills anyone can have. Your just not going to last long that way. Just ask Bo Jackson and Earl Campbell and if those 2 can be beat down...anyone can.

When the wheels are gone Vick has absolutely no other QB skills to fall back on. Currently he's Trent Dilfer with legs, when those are gone he's just another Trent Dilfer.

And the point of the second post was that it hasn't killed the Falcons yet; I'm not saying he's an All-Pro, but his passing doesn't seem to be the most important part of their gameplan, seeing as he's attempted fewer passes than virtually everyone else on the list.

I have defended Vick so many times on this site. So if you don't know how I feel you can check some of the other threads.

I fuckin' hate stats, Krenzel didnt have great stats when he was here, but he played his game and did what he had to do to win. Same with Vick. Did anyone see the 2 td run on MNF and the other run where he kept the play alive and got enough yardage for the 1st down.

Also keep in mind two of his ints when through the recievers hands and a couple of his balls could of been caught.

Please give up on this whole Vick is not good bullshit, it is getting old. You see how the same team fared when Schaub was in there. They lost. The team is 5-1 with him as the starter this year and have made the playoffs with him as qb his 2 full years and sucked the year he was hurt.

I've never really gotten into one of these Vick arguments you are talking about and I don't think he's terrible overall but he sucks as a passer.

If you are going to use the logic that stats aren't everything and all he does is win, well then he's gonna have to win something isn't he? Just making the playoffs in the weak-ass NFC isn't enough and any NFL team is gonna blow when the backup is in and the starter is out.

Hell if thats your criteria for a good QB, then Big Ben is the best in the NFL, did you see how shitty the Steelers looked when he went down?

Again, I'm not sue what your personal loyalties are to Vick and I'm not trying to rag on him excessively but the numbers don't lie no matter how much you hate them. He sucks as a passer, is great as a runner and any good NFL defense(the kind you find in the playoffs for example) will shut Atlanta down due to their one dimensional nature. Just look at what Philly did to them last year.

Two great points. He's supposed to be running the West Coast offense, and for that, an adequate completion % is 60...the better QBs that run it are around 65% or better.

And I made the same point about Dilfer here at work on Tuesday.

I'm not a Vick hater, though I do think he's the most overhyped player in any sport, possibly in history (an example was Monday night, where they basically completely brushed off his terrible passing stats and said "You throw stats out the window with this guy" and it seems he's the only player that ever gets that benfit of the doubt...and he gets it all the time). Vick can do some things that no other QB can do...unfortunately for him, he can't complete many passes, and being one dimensional always catches up with you eventually (just look at what all of us are saying about the Minnesota Gophers right now). And he's fast, but not fast enough to beat an 11 man NFL defense by himself.

As for the record, I'd say the defense and Warrick Dunn have quite a bit to do with that, too. Look at the Monday night game, with all of Interceptaverde's turnovers...did it really look like Vick won that game for the Falcons? It didn't to me...

The thing about the Falcons is that everytime you watch them play they rarely talk about how maybe they need to shake up the QB position. Most of the talk is about finding a #1 receiver and how they have brought in 1st rounders for their corps and nothing has helped them in a leader shandpoint.

Out of curiosity, I looked a few things up about Vick.

year - starts - record
2001 - 2 --- 1-1
2002 - 15 -- 8-6-1
2003 - 4 --- 3-1
2004 - 17 -- 12-5
2005 - 6 --- 5-1
------ 44 -- 29-14-1

That's a 66% winning rate. I know a lot of teams (cough cleveland cough) who would love to average winning 66% of the time. Granted he's not always healthy, but when he is, he gives his team a very good shot to win. Any QB who has that good of a winning percentage is not "horrible."

Does he do enough to get them the SuperBowl trophy? I dunno...
