For the record, I'm not a Vick "lover". I just think it's comical how obsessed some of you are with your hatred of Vick. He's considered a super QB (ie top 10)? Really? When was the last time a talking head said this? Or are you still worked up over hype from a few years ago, and still taking up your pitchfork to prove otherwise?

Carson Palmer was making a LOT of bad plays when his line wasn't blocking for him. But I guess Vick is to blame for the DL being in the backfield instantly all night long.

the one thing i know about mick vick, is by now you know what you get. to me hes a gamebreaking player, who can run, shift directions, accelerate and throw the ball as hard as anyone in the league, with that you get sometimes questionable descions b/c of his ungodly athletic ability tangled with what at the college level i would call average accuracy. hes a walking highlight reel that often times has difficulty making the easy play. one thing is for sure, he can change games. you take the the good with the bad, but it makes me wonder if he can ever win the super bowl with that style (or ability)

There is bad, and there is Michael Vick bad.
Vick went 12 for 31 for 130 yards. You usually don't see that kind of ineptitide in the NFL from a starting QB. That is backup QB bad. That is college football bad.
I always get a chuckle when one of Mr. Incognito's threads gets bumped. Love that picture, Guy.

Peyton Manning 14-31 219 1 td; 0yds rushing; sacked 1 time
Michael Vick 12-31 137 0 td ; 57 yds rushing; sacked 5 times
So Vick accounted for 20 less yds than Peyton Manning. I don't see you harping on Manning.
Vick was under duress all game, his WR's were obviously not getting opened and Alge did drop the td pass, and they had a fg blocked. Was it a great game no. Did he give his team oppurtunities to make plays yes.
I also like JO's analysis, I think he hit the nail on the head. I have questions about him being able to be hot one week and cold the next, but I still don't think that all the bashing is warranted, especially since no one was there to praise him after the first two weeks. O yeah b/c it wasnt a national tv game.

That's the thing with Vick and every QB. Dropped passed, missed blocks, etc. If he is that good, shouldn't he be able to overcome some of these? Most QB's play well in circumstances where everything right. If everything is good, the running game is on, Falcons get a nice lead, and the defense is playing well then Vick can run all over teams. I saw that in a Monday Night game last year. Teams have to be over aggressive, defensive ends come up the field, cornerbacks take more chances, the offense is simplified, and he can just do is thing. What QB couldn't play well in an environment like that? Well most of the time in the NFL that doesn't happen. Vick is forced to stay in the pocket. He can't win many games, especially with his arm, when these obstacles are in front him like some QB's. Somebody brings up Carson Palmer, I am by no means a Bengals fan but after getting sacked 6 times and Rudi only rushing for less than 50 yards, he was still able to make the big passes. Carson did have a 97 yard drive, he did make the passes when he had to, when everything didn't go right. Vick would have been forced to stay in the pocket and folded. That is something I haven't seen from Vick.
To me this is a put up or shut up year for him. A big excuse last year is that Vick didn't have much around, well the Falcons did a good job in the FA market and got some players. Really, I think not making a playoffs would be disappointment Falcon fans right? Especially in the weak NFC where right now the winner of the Seahawks-Bears next week will be the only team where you can say they have separated themselves from the rest. I mean shouldn't their be the improvements in the passing, especially in his 6th season in a simplified WCO? Because I didn't see it last night. His touch, his accuracy, his ability to read a defense on the run, I didn't see it last night. Are these improvements too much to ask of him? Or is he just a novelty QB now that will put on these runs and commentators will be all over him then all of the sudden he has a game like last night and everybody is quiet.
