Updated: July 18, 2008, 7:51 PM ET
MILWAUKEE -- Green Bay Packers president Mark Murphy has restated his support for general manager Ted Thompson and coach Mike McCarthy in their dealings with Brett Favre.
Murphy spoke Friday after a meeting of the team's executive committee. He was not available for comment, but a team spokesman said the club president has "full confidence" in how Thompson and McCarthy are handling this matter.
Murphy's 83-year-old father died on Thursday morning in Florida, and a memorial service was scheduled for Monday in Clearwater, Fla.

Thats sort of my point. The whole situation is really just kind of pathetic. If he wants to play, release him. I don't understand why GB would even care whether or not he goes to a divisional rival, what are the odds that he really will lead any team anywhere in the very few remaining years he has left physically. The answer: Not very good. At the same time though, as much as I was rooting for Favre last year, I really do wish that he would just go away. Both sides of this are equally gay.

Well, I suppose what it is to me is that I could care less what he or Green Bay end up doing, I am just really tired of hearing about it ad-nauseum. Yeah, I suppose that I could quit reading the newspaper or watching tv, but then I would miss out on the things that arent boring and stupid. Really, it is just a continuation of the same tired Brett Favre story that we have to endure every offseason. I seriously doubt that I'm the only person who feels this way.
