Young ran like a guy in a movie, with a ghost magically moving defenders out of his way. I don't know if he's always that sharp, but in the Rose Bowl he was scary good. Crazy good. To borrow a compliment from Teddy Ginn, "It looked like he was playing for EA Sports". Only a computer-generated superplayer should be able to do what Young did to scUM.
I didn't laugh out loud when Fouts and Keith Jackson talked about him as a potential Heisman candidate. It made perfect sense to me.
What tOSU has in its favor is the fact that JT and Snyder have 9 months to prepare for this guy. Nobody is better at game-planning than JT when there's plenty of time to prepare. He'll need the 9 months.

I have one question, is Young that hard to tackle (strong) or did Michigan just miss that many tackles? He looked like a super hero on some plays.
Michigan's LBs looked like Pop Warner players trying to tackle Jim Brown

Young will be contained by whoever spies on him next year. Their TE's look tough, and could pose problems for our LB's, but that pussy #12 WR that kept curling up like a little bitch everytime someone got close to him should be easy to contain too.

reggie mcneal put up better numbers with far less talent around him. the completion percentages were very similar, however mcneals passing efficiency and was better. he threw for over a 1,000 more yards and 3 more touchdowns, while throwing 6 less interceptions. he also was an effective runner, although he average a little over a yard less per rush
which one would you rather have? i didnt start this post to be a flamer or stir everything up, but mcneal put up better numbers how come he isnt mentioned as a heisman candidate?

Young is more electrifying, and Texas is way better than aTm, that's why he gets more heisman pub. As to which is a better QB, I'm not sure. I haven't really seen either of them play enough games (3-4 each) to really say.

i agree that young is more electrifying and more exciting to watch, but mcneal plays for a team with alot less talent and still puts up better numbers than vince young.

If a team doesnt have a good running game, but has pretty good receivers it makes more sense to pass the ball more.

McNeal's stats include the Tenn. game. Vince on the year had 167 carries for 1079 yds and 14 td. The main thing that separates these two is leadership. Those who didn't see Reggie (fetal position) Mcneal against Texas wouldn't know. How does a team follow a QB that hits the ground and curls into a ball when the defensive pursuit gets too close ?? Also, for someone who's been owned by Vincent Young since high school, he has been talking a lot of preseason smack. The numbers don't show why Vince is in a different league than Reggie, y'all tune in for some of their games this year & see why for yourselves.
