I just wanted to add that I live in Cincinnati and that I LOVE the Buckeyes...and every place I go, I see Buckeye gear representing...I was at the Cubs/Reds game last week and I couldn't COUNT how many people I saw wearing Buckeye gear...
Yes, there a lot of Buckeye haters in Cincy...hell, I work with a few...but NOBODY can give me a difinitive answer as to why they hate OSU....I chalk it up to jealousy and say 'Go Bucks'.

prolly just how they were brought up.. if your parents hate a sports team openly (regardless of why), generally so will you.

The more I've thought about it, the more I think I can root for him. It might take a while to "forget" he played for scUM, though. But its not like he's Kellen Winslow. That guy didn't play for scUM, but he's still SCUM. I can't root for him.
As for this Columbus/Cleveland/Cincinnati thing, this is the first I've heard of this "brotherhood" between Columbus and Cleveland. Cleveland likes to think of itself as the only "real" city in Ohio. The Bucks get NO coverage on most radio stations and television networks, unless it is somehow bad press for tOSU. After Ohio State beat Penn State in 2002, nothing - only interviewing Cavs players about some crappy game they were about to play. After Ohio State beats Michigan last year, NOT A WORD. When Clarett tells the "truth" its all over - "Ohio State football should be shut down, blah blah blah." It's disgusting.
In the Cleveland Plain Dealer, you see more information about how [censored]ty the program is, as far as discipline, than you see about how Tressel has had more Academic All-Big Ten players, on average, than Cooper did, and how Tressel is turning the program around for the better.
And you're lucky if you can find an Ohio State basketball game on TV. Granted, I don't follow the Bucks basketball, and I don't always remember to look for the games, but it seems that only about half the time I remember to look, the game isn't on TV.
During football season, if you walk into BW3 or another sports bar in the Cleveland area, you'll find as many Michigan fans as Ohio State fans. And (this [censored]es me off the most) after the 2002 national championship, I heard a fan on a radio show call in and say that it was great for the whole state of Ohio to have finally won a national championship, because its been "so long". The first thing I thought of was 1990 Reds, and the host of the show even asked about that. The caller stated something that I've heard from many Cleveland fans: Cincinnati isn't part of Ohio - it's Kentucky. With all the Michigan crap I see, I doubt that Cleveland is part of Ohio.
I've never heard of the issues between Cincinnati and Columbus. I just know that the "average" Cleveland fan is only a bandwagon Buckeye fan.

every store i go into i see a wall devoted to UC, one to UK, one to xavier and then there are 2 t-shirts a sweat shirt and a hat for tOSU.

Cardboard Heroes at Cincinnati Mills is LOADED with Buckeye gear. I just bought an indoor inlfatable Brutus for my basement last night. There is a Team Town also at Cincy Mills and they have tons of OSU kids stuff. (My daughters are decked out with stuff from there)...but, yes, there seem to be few places that actually load up on Buckeye gear...I do admit that I get most of my stuff from hangonsloopy.com

Speaking of where to buy OSU stuff, I saw a store near Toledo that was possibly more disgusting than that Nike commercial where the guy with the OSU sweatshirt is making out with the chick with the Michigan sweatshirt. It was a store that sold both Michigan stuff and Ohio State stuff. I don't remember the name. I should take a picture if I find it again, sometime.
