I put in the Sean Taylor thread but Florida has some stiff mandated sentencing for crimes involving a gun.
These two dumb[censored]s could both very well be looking at the end of their careers.

when a player ends his own career due to legal issues, does the team still have to pay them very much? I'm just asking in general, i'm sure certain contracts are different.

I thought NFL contracts were never guarenteed. So Henry could be cut for whatever reason and he'll never see 2006-07 money. Some players may have clauses that require them to return parts of their signing bonus if they screw up. Henry might have been one of those players, but he was only a 3rd round pick so I doubt his signing bonus was big enough to warrant any kind of stipulation.

Correct. No guaranteed money in the NFL.
Whatever siging bonus he's gotten is the only money he's guaranteed to see and 3rd round signing bonuses aren't [censored].

At the very least, you can be sure his days in Cincy are over. Marvin can't afford to let the team go in this direction after finally getting rid of all the Carl Pickens/Corey Dillon type attitudes. As someone stated earlier, gun crimes are no laughing matter. He might be fortunate to not end up with an extended stay in prison.

If I were Marvin Lewis...I would honestly kick him off the team..This team is heading in the right direction. This is the last thing we need. I would cut him and draft another receiver in the 4th or 5th round...I feel he will only get worse...If he gets out of both charges and Lewis lets him back I think he will continue to be trouble...Thats why they were skeptical of drafting him anyways...Cut his ass......
