Am I paid to reach that conclusion? Hell no. But, I don't believe everything I read, especially when it contradicts the evidence I saw (again and again) in that game with my own eyes.

I'm simply confused as to why in the world anyone should listen to your opinion as to what is and what isn't a blown call vis-a-vis the NFL and its officials. Believe me, fella, those guys know the rules and watch a lot more film regarding the proper interpretation of calls than you do.

About your contentions that the knowledge the NFL and their officials have of the rules and their proper interpretation is better than well mine (and presumably yours as you accepted the position offered in their press release). Knowing the rules does not mean that the game was called correctly. That is all that is being debated here, so stating an opinion about that is perfectly legitimate. A little skepticism about the NFL press release intended to back up the on-field crew performance is, in my opinion, a healthy thing.

Gotta confess a big blunder on my part.

Rewatched the SB and the dropped INT by Taylor was not on the same series the Seahawks scored the FG/had the PI call. It was the series before.

You could still make the case the INT would have changed field position and therefore the 'hawks would not have been down there. However, that wasn't honestly what I was saying and now your getting way deep into the woulda, coulda shoulda's and thats a place I hate to go too often.

Anyway, all a moot point now but I don't like being factually innacurate and wanted to point it out.

In fact the more I rewatch that game the more I am convinced all this outcry is based on the fact A) its the SB and close calls will automatically be magnified and B) both teams brought their C games and the sloppy, poor play naturally led the focus astray where several close calls were waiting to take the attention and run. Perfect storm of events.

There is no doubt in my mind that if its a regular season game people just come away saying what an ugly game, glad we won/glad its over, who do we play next week? This was just a bad game by both teams and the officials, the type of witch you see 3 or 4 times a weekend during the year.

Unfortunately for football fans as a whole, it happened during the SB so the focus and hype just went crazy. Glad its over personally.
