Tibor dissing the experts from ESPN
Thought you guys would enjoy this nugget.
Tibor (Pittsburgh, PA): Last year Mel Kiper called Lofa Tatupu a "reach." Given that, why should we listen to anything the draft experts say. For all you know, Jay Cutler will be the next Cade McNown.
<!-- displayed mode --> Chris Mortensen: (11:54 AM ET ) You are right. It's your choice on how much weight you give to the "experts." Me, I go by what I consider strong info from the best evaluators, especially those with proven track records in the league. I also think that it carries a lot of weight when former QBxs like Jaws, Simms and Young weigh in with the idential evaluations on the QBs (Cutler). The only guy I heard compared to McNown, by the way, was Leinart. But I think he landed in a great spot - another part of the equation.

Look at those first 3 words in Mort's response. Maybe that'll be in Tib's sig, without the rest of the quote.

He actually makes a pretty good point with Mort.
Maybe it was another person who actually has a brain that used that name.
I can't see Tibs coming up with a plausible comment like that.

I don't know about you guys, but I'd like to see Tibs replace Mel during next year's draft - then everyone can see how intelligent he really is!

Just because someone is considered a "reach" does not mean that he will not be a good or even a great player. It's all about where you took him and if you could have traded down and still got him. Thus, they criticize the Bills for taking Whitner "early" when they could have traded down and taken him with a later pick (15-16). But it's all academic. They said the Bengals "reached" for Levi Jones, but he's worked out pretty well.

That's exactly why everyone looks up at the Browns evaluation of true tiddly wink talent.
I know. I know...here I go again.
