I, too, have been a long-time fan of the Browns. I must admit, though, that I lost a great deal of my interest in them (and Pro football in general) when Modell moved the "real" Browns to Baltimore. I was glad to see another franchise be granted to Cleveland, they deserve one. (Whether you love or hate Cleveland, the one thing that cannot be denied is the tremendous support that the fans have always shown the Browns, win or lose.) Now, the Browns are under the control of Bitch Davis, who seems to be intent upon turning the franchise into a refugee camp for ex-hurricanes. Now, he WASTES a first round, #6 overall pick on this arrogant [censored]HEAD Winslow, the self-proclaimed "Chosen One" who (I REALLY hope) may never sign with the team. I hope he has to sit out this season (a la Maurice Clarett...wouldn't that be ironic?) and miss out on a whole year to display his
"magnificence" to the drooling fans of NFL football. I also would love to see a unified effort on the part of ALL NFL franchise owners to band together and, in one unified voice, tell the Postons to go [censored] Themselves! Make it clear...we don't negotiate with the Postons!
(Yeah, I know that won't happen...but it would be nice if it did. I do wonder though, when these teams who have had to put up with the Postons' antics are going to say "enough"?)

Yeah, it came in the first game of the season, and what did he do? He did the Heisman pose, and never scored again all season.
Good luck with the "soldjuh", Browns fans.

So now the Browns are going to break the bank to get this dickhead in camp. Great move out of Butch!! Don't leave yourself any room to sign any talent after the fiasco that is the Browns upcoming season dumb ass.
I also heard on 1460 yesterday that Jim Brown has now offered his services to try and help get Winslow signed. I'm assuming that the Browns don't want to offer Winslow first pick money because he is African American not because he wasn't the first pick.
Only in Cleveland.
Meanwhile, Ben Hartsock lit it up for the Colts in their scrimmage the other day. GREAT JOB BEN!! What a class individual and a great rep for the Buckeye Nation!! Thank God Winslow didn't come to Ohio State.

Put yourself before the team just once Winslow.
Here are my thoughts on Winslow"
Quote:
|
"Why should I take anything back? I know I can perform at the highest level of professional football and can't wait to prove it to everybody," says Winslow, who as of the weekend had not reached a contract agreement with the Browns
|
Take anything back? I dont understand....I thought you had to earn your money and respect in the NFL, I could be wrong.
Quote:
|
"A lot of people have their opinions of me and I know most of them aren't very good. But I'm just a guy who believes in his abilities as a football player, period. There's nothing wrong with that, right? I don't care what you say you need to be confident going in."
|
He is right, alot of people have opinions about him and for obvious reasons, he might believe in his abilities but he is also, arrogant, egotistical and not a team player and thats what I have a problem with, there is a difference between being confident and being just plain cocky in nature, he hasnt even caught a pass!
Quote:
|
"I'm my own person," says Winslow. "I don't have to go about life fulfilling other people's wishes. I want to do things for myself, not because some other person wants me to."
|
him saying he is his own person tells me alot about who he is, he plays a team sport and he is always focusing on his self regardless of the situation.
Quote:
|
"I admit that I could have handled some of that stuff differently, but I've always done everything with passion. And that's how I have and will always play the game," says Winslow. "'I've lost sleep at night just thinking about being the absolute best player out there. It's something I've always wanted."
|
Your damn right he could have handled some of his bs better, like try to be respectful and professional and represent your team in the best manner possible, not get in front of the media and talk about being a soldier! Get real.
Quote:
It shouldn't come as a shock that some of Winslow's ex-UM mates could be heard cheering his exit when he decided to forgo his senior season and opt for the NFL. But Winslow doesn't seem to care.
"A lot of them won't be playing football too much longer," he says. "Do you think I'll be around in a year or two?"
|
omg, this guy was disliked by his own teammates! Not just a few, but by the majority, you guys think it was because of his ego? This guy is a cancer and really needs to grow up.
I have been a browns fan my whole life and I was also there during the "drive", the "fumble" and Art Modell stabbing us in the back, I love the browns with a passion but when they moved it took alot of my passion with them.
It became more of a business than a sport and this guy is a prime example of what is wrong with the NFL, it is no longer about pride and passion, its about how much money I can get and individual satistics.
My personal opinion is that the Browns have made a terrible choice and it is just one in a serious of stupid decisions by Butch Davis and his staff. I hope Winslow never plays a down for Cleveland.

Winslow had 3 (maybe it was 2) less TD's and 1 more Heisman pose than did Ben Hartsock.
I'm [censored]ed. Write that down. Go make money off of that.
