I can see the argument for flipping the bird, to me it's just not a big deal. The flipping the ball thing I saw at least 5 times this weekend in college and pro games. He didn't throw it at him, and if it hadn't hit the guy in the facemask it wouldn't have been a penalty. By themselves they were; a dumb mistake and something rather benign....but for the elbow. I think grad is right. That says to me he is a little unstable. I was thinking Randy Moss, but Lawrence Phillips could be more like it. I was originally thinking of Robert Reynolds, who I felt should have been kicked off the team, despite the fact that he was a good guy. Marcus Vick is hardly a good guy, and what it appears he did to that coach is at least as bad as the choking incident.

My comments were based on his entire record...I have my doubts about the coach thing.
For one, it was a very hostile game...tons of trashtalk on both sides. Trust me, the WVU players were doing just as much as VT.
Next, it is a huge rivalry game with a recent history. For Vick to have any contact with the coach, he had to have been out of bounds on the WVU sideline...not a good place to be in noted environment.
Finally, considering noted environment and hostile sideline, I could definitely see Vick nudging, pushing, squirming his way off that sideline as fast as possible with an array of rips and swims...elbow to the back of the head? Entirely possible. Intentional? That would have to be proven to me. Rodriguez is trying to tell us that 20+ loyal players watched their coach get elbowed to the head and not one jumped in reaction or protection?
Vick is a piece of work and not very bright if he wants to risk his future...but I really don't think he is that stupid.

WHat I find amusing is that the article doesn't state why he was arrested twice and suspended from Va Tech last season.
When is the last time you saw an article about Troy Smith that didn't mention that he was suspended for two games for accepting money from a booster.
No one ever talks about what Marcus did last year to get suspended.

You're right. It might have been handled in-house. My point is that if this weekend at PSU, a Buckeye scores a TD and then flips off the crowd, I woudl be disgusted. I would feel that such a gesture reflects poorly on our football program and our university. I would want Tressel to publicly address the issue, if for no other reason than to let the media and the nation know that such behavior is unacceptable to the football program as well as the university and state of Ohio that it represents. So, you're right--maybe Beamer handled it in-house. I just know that I wouldn't want such a reaction from my coach as it possibly implies a lack of concern of a problem.

Marcus Vick discussion (merged)
Havent seen this posted here, but I know their are alot of people here that hate Va Tach so here it is.
http://media.putfile.com/VT-THUG-1
Vick said it was an accident(despite the fact that he distinctly looked down), and that he apologized to Dumervil after the game(despite the fact that Dumervil said that he didnt.) Vick has been in trouble off the field drinking with underage girls, and on the field, flicking of the WVU crowd, and this stuff right here. How much can a guy get away with???

No way, No change, no how was that an accident. None. That should be reviewed by the ACC conference and I honestly think he should be suspended for a couple of games for that.

And while the media was constantly trashing Troy Smith for taking $500 from a booster, they were simultaneously applauding Marcus Vick for overcoming so much (self-made) adversity in his life....
