Gonna have to agree on Kilborn...
In fact, I think the height of Sportcenter... or depth...
Was the old 2am 30 minute version when Olbermann was on his way out... and Kilborn was still pretty new... those dudes didn't care what they said... and did a nice job actually having fun instead of all the canned [censored]...
One of my favorite moments was after Olbermann was shown the door... they broke in Kenny Mayne with Kilborn on the 2am show...
As some of you will remember, Mayne used the terminally stupid "Yahtzee!" as his Homerun catchphrase... (As though this could hold a candle to Kilborn's "Do a little dance, make a little glove")
Anyway... Mayne is calling the highlight... and... throws out about 25 Yahtzees! in 48 seconds...
They cut back to the studio and Kilborn truns to Mayne and goes, "Don't ever say Yahtzee again!"
And... they cut to commercial...
If that's not enough...
The next night... Mayne... follwing orders... does a highlight and says soemthing like "And Griffey takes one deep."
At which time, Kilborn chimes in, "Come on Kenny... how 'bout a little Yahtzee!"
"no."
Ahh... the joys of rookie hazing.
