Your favorite Cardiac Kid
I saw Spielman's thing on his favorite Cardiac Kids and I was suprised to see he listed Dave Logan who was my favorite. When I was seven my grandparents bought me a real football uniform, Browns, with number 85 on it, but my last name. I had the real everything, girdle, knee, thigh, shoulder pads, Browns helmet. I can remember the awesome scent of that athletic gear, still. The coolest thing was that I had my name on a number 85 jersey. You could see me in the front of the house out on the devil strip shoulder tackling the telelephone poll, diving all over the yard after my dad's passes.
The cardiac kids totally turned me on to football.
One time I went to the Chapel Hill Mall in Cuyahoga Falls for an autograph signing and Ozzie Newsome was there signing. I wore my Dave Logan Jersey. Ozzie looked at that 8 year old (me) a little funny and said, "Hey, that's Dave Logan's jersey!" kind of like, "why aren't you wearing mine?"... I said, "I know. He's my favorite player, but I like you, too."

Top 5 Favorite Cardiac Kids
5. Dick Ambrose
4. Ozzie Newsome
3. Dave Logan
2. Reggie Rucker
1. Brian Sipe
I would have to include: Lyle Alzado and Ricky Fear and perhaps Doug Dieken, mostly because he just sounds hilarious commentating games on the radio.

I'd have to go with Sipe or Newsome... probably Newsome because I remember his playing days more than Sipes. I hope Ozzie comes back to the organization some day. All those names bring back some memories.

Dispite the fact that he played for USC in college, Clay Matthews was my favorite player from that period. He was a hard nosed old-school player and he played 19 freaking years! I'm sure he still has the NFL record for most games played at LB and is probably still in the top 5 for all positions not including kickers.
